I had no internet service for most of the day–hence, no blog. I did get some writing done, though–a new character appeared, and she will definitely liven things up for Landry and Ria.
Sister Sally sent me the most gorgeous Mother’s Day gift–one of her fabulous sweaters! I just adore it–and the jeweled crown pin that came along for the ride.
Sally Jean, you’re too good to me. Keep it up.
Believe it or not, my bathroom is DONE. (Well, for the time being, anyway.) What an improvement!
Our beautiful weather is holding, and this morning’s peony/rose patrol promises beautiful blossoms soon. YES! I want to spend a little more time outside before I head up to the office to work. Honestly, that office is a pleasure to be in–the view is great.
I’m planning to spend the weekend sorting clothes and trying to clear at least one surface in the studio. Of course, Sunday is Mother’s Day, so we’ll be doing some celebrating. Wendy and Jeremy volunteered to make chicken enchiladas–yum!
Off to cut a few more white lilacs—
Have a good weekend and hug your Mom. If you can’t do that, hug somebody else’s mom.

I did yard work & hung flower baskets on my deck yesterday in prep for son & family this weekend! I’m getting antsy for your new book to be released the latter part of this month – LOVE those cowboys !! Have a wonderful weekend just being a mother – & what a blessing that is
Bless you & your family,

Linda, you crack me up: “Sally Jean, you’re too good to me. Keep it up.” Do you mind if I use that line sometime? too funny!
Theresa, I too am sorry about your mother’s illness. I have already sent up a quick prayer and you and she are on my regular prayer list (it’s a mental list, but I won’t forget!). I lost my wonderful mother to cancer in 1974 and my equally wonderful step-mom to cancer in 2010, I still miss them both.
To Linda and all the mothers, step-mothers, mothers-of-the-heart, aunts, and grandmothers, I wish you a happy and special Mother’s Day – heck, have a happy Mother’s Day WEEKEND!

Hilda, I was thinking the exact same thing about you, and about borrowing Linda’s comment to use on you.
Linda, you are so Blessed to have such a lovely home, so many fans/friends, and most of all family. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To EVERYONE else, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of you, whether you’re a mother, or not. When I tell my son’s wife Happy Mother’s day, she always tells me she’s not a mother and I tell her she’s not a CHRISTMAS, either, but I still wish her a Merry Christmas. So, she just laughs.
Everyone…have a good and Godly weekend. Linda, breathe in the whilte lilcas for me, please. I only have a small purple one. I’m not sure I’ve seen a white one in person.

Linda, I hope you have a very good week end & Mother’s Day with your daughter & son in law. Enjoy those enchiladas. I lost my mother 9 years ago on May 5 and still miss her every day. If did not see her every day I talked to her on phone. But know she & my dad are up there watching over all of us kids & our families.
Teresa I will keep you & your family in my prayers too. Just enjoy every day with your mom as much as you can.
Everyone else have a happy Mother’s Day and enjoy it.

Linda-you had no internet and I had not hot water heater for 2 days and water turned off for most of the day. Now the problem is resolved and the shower was pure heaven. Reminds of how wonderful the first shower was each time after delivering each of my 5 sons. The simple things in life are the best…peonies, roses, daffodils, hot showers, home cooking. That is what makes life.
Happy Mother’s Day to you.

Reading these posts is just another reminder to love, cherise and appreciate our mothers and loved ones! My mom is alive and well and I feel truly blessed to have her. Although we live many states apart and won’t be together on Mother’s Day, she knows how much her kids, kids-in-law and grandchildren love she and my dad.
Sending a virtual hug to you all and wishing everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day!
