A huge THANK YOU to Linda Lattin for the GORGEOUS mustang figurine!! He’s prominently displayed on my office book shelf, where I can look at him often–you really shouldn’t have, but I’m sure glad you did. (Please send your snail mail address to llmfb@msn.com so I can send you a proper thank you note!)
That said, heads up, one and all–a new contest begins on Monday. That will also be the day I announce the winners for this week. As always, all you need to do is leave a comment here on the blog–winners will receive an email from Jenni, asking for mailing info.
I’m expecting company this weekend–will tell you all about it on Monday’s blog. I don’t mean to be mysterious or anything–I just want to be able to elaborate on the story.
We’re having some very hot weather in the Spokane area, and there are some fires, so please say a prayer for all of us, whether we have two or four legs. One gets used to wildfires in Arizona, since they’re practically a given every summer, but it’s not quite as common here in Eastern Washington, thank heaven.
A few people have lost their homes, so I’ll be making donations to the local Red Cross chapter–clothes, household items, and a check.
What I’m listening to: A Hemi-Sync CD called “Indigo for Quantum Focus”–it’s an aid to concentration and seems to be working. With my ADD, focusing on one project at a time can be a real challenge. Anyway, this CD and many like it are put out by the people at the Monroe Institute, back in Virginia. I’m planning to attend one of their 6-day training sessions in the fall–if you’re curious about what they offer, check out their website: www.MonroeInstitute.org
I also have a book to recommend: THOUGHTS ARE THINGS, SO CHOOSE THEM WISELY, by Mike Dooley. (Mike sends out great inspirational messages daily, as well; you can sign up at www.tut.com
“Tut” stands for totally unique thoughts, by the way. I am so impressed with this book that I’ll be giving away one copy each week in August–meaning one winner will receive THOUGHTS and THE MARRIAGE PACT, autographed of course. (The second winner will also receive a signed copy of my latest.)
In closing, I’m out of here–my new book is waiting. Have the best weekend ever, and tune in on Monday for more news from the Triple L.
P.S. A number of you have kindly asked about the Canadian Wrangler–he’s all healed up and back in the saddle, I’m glad to say. And our little Gibson Drew is home now, with his wonderful mommy and daddy. God is good.

The wild fires are so frightening. I have been watching the FB posts of another author that I follow who lives in Washington. The fires came so close to her house. She could see the tall flames from her yard. She was praising the work of their fire fighters. A few years ago we had very bad fires in the Everglades. A lot of homes were destroyed. My younger brother wasn’t able to drive home from work one day as they had his neighborhood all blocked off because of fires. My brother was very lucky but some of his neighbors weren’t.
Stay well and have a great week-end.

Great new about baby Gibson Drew and our Canadian Wrangler, (yes, I said OUR because he is most likely the closest I’ll ever have to having “one of my own”, so I hope you don’t mind sharing yours, LOL). So interesting to know what kind of books my favorite writer likes to read, so different from what you write, but I guess that makes sense. And it’s really cool that you are personal friends with some of the other writers I enjoy reading also, like Debbie Macomber and Nora Roberts. Prayers for all those effected by the fires, there are so many burning, in so many different states. Hoping you have a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to the new book, no pressure or anything though, lol

Will pray for some rain and for everyone’s safety.
Who is your company? Lol!!! Sounds great to have visitors.
I need a Linda fix soon! For now the books will keep me happy

It is a chilly 66 degrees here today. Quite a difference in temps this summer in Illinois but I’m not complaining. I rather put on a jacket than be so hot that you’re miserable. I feel for you and your animals.

So glad to hear from you two days in a row, Linda. Sounds like things are well for you. I’d like to ask your readers to also say a prayer for those fighting all the forest fires going on now. My grand-son-in- law’s National Guard unit there in WA has been called up to fight the fire near Spokane. They are training right now and will probably soon be in the thick of things. Thank you and Blessings.

I am glad some things are going well for those close to you, and hope the firefighters have success in putting those fires out. They take such a toll on people, water and the planet in general. Sending good thoughts to all.

Wow Linda!
That was on action packed message you wrote! I want whatever you’re drinking, eating, or reading! Great job, keep on doin’ it!
It sounds like you’re going to be in for a heck of a weekend. I can’t wait till Monday to find out what you did! I’m going to be organizing around my home-front getting ready to relocate to Texas as soon as my hubby’s company comes down from their ivory towers and sends us our relocation offer! We’ve been waiting for about a month now for some news on when they expect us to be moved. It’s a good thing I can work where ever I am. As long as I have my computer and internet I’m good to go!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Can’t wait to hear from you Monday!

So excited for a new book! When is the next one due to hit the shelves? I am actually reading one that I picked up at a thrift store along the way… One Wish. I am absolutely loving it!
So happy that we have had some cooler weather and rain to help with the fires. The winds were horrible and left such devistation, but they did blow out some of the smoke so we do have something to be thankful for from that horrible afternoon. My thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected, especially those who lived in the mobile home park in Riverside.
Thank you for your kind contributions! I too have been doing what I can to help those who have been affected by the weather and fires in our region.
Have a wonderful weekend. I can’t wait to hear about your company!
