Regarding the weekend, we had fabulously sunny (if cold) weather both days, and Bernice and I made the best of it. Even though she’ll be 15 on April 14, this dog loves to go for walks–loves to go anywhere, for that matter. She’s a peppy little dickens, for sure. Anyway, we did some exploring and some hanging out in the barn–her favorite place to visit.
Yesterday, the family celebrated our boy Lucas’s 8th birthday–hard to believe he’s that old already. Five minutes ago, it seems to me, he was a baby. Lucas is smart, funny, and affectionate–and, yes, as his great-aunt, I’m prejudiced.
We all enjoyed barbecued hamburgers, the usual accompaniments, and a lot of laughter–though I did skip the birthday cake. (Wednesday’s weigh-in is coming up fast, and last week’s number was sobering.)
Mondays. I love them. Mostly.

I always look forward to your blogs. It’s like hearing from a friend. I’m reading a number of your novels from 12-15 years ago. I usually read 2 – 3 of your books a week and I love them all.
Hope you do well at your weigh-in on Wednesday!

Our yorkie is 14 years old and just as peppy as a puppy. It’s hard to believe that she is 14. She weighs only 3 and half pounds but she’s ready to take on the world each morning. Her job is to keep the squirrels, cats and whatever out of the backyard. She takes her job very seriously!
Comment
Happy Birthday to Lucas. So glad you had a good weekend. Hope your week is just as good.
Comment
I enjoy listening to your books while I knit or work on my counted cross stitch.

This weekend was beautiful and we had a eventful Saturday rushing my mother’s dog Molly to the vet. Apparently she’d eaten something during her walk and it caused her some breathing issues and anxiety. She is much better today and it going back to the vet for follow-up. I am feeling very blessed and thankful for our on call vet.

Oh Linda! Bernice sounds like *such* fun to have in your life! I used to have pets all the time, but haven’t been able to, since the car accident which disabled me.
My BFF, though, has a great little dog named Sparky, and the enjoyment she gets from that little fella spills over into MY life. Every time we “speak” I get all the gen on his latest goings-on.
You sure open up your life to all kinds of possibilities, when you open your heart to a pet!
Have a wonderful day!

Mondays are too bad. Today the weather in Iowa was really nice we reached a high of 52 and sunny. Same forecast for the next few days, but as the saying goes “wait 5 minutes and the weather will change!” My father used to make this comment all the time.
The best part of today was that I recieved my book to hopefully after work I can start reading it,can’t wait! Linda I wanted to thank you again for giving your readers a the chance to win the drawing, and the fact that I actually won. Til next time good luck with your weigh in and keep writing those wonderful books we all look forward to reading. Connie

I LOVE your book, and read anything you write. I’d read your grocery list if you posted it! LOL :). I have 2 labs, 7 & 9. they love the snow, which is good since we got “feet” of it. I just wish now these “feet” would run away. I have a turkey call business, so I have spent the past few days shipping, selling, listing, revising turkey calls. Oh, inbetween all of this, I shoveled ice, chipped ice, and generally pounded on ice. So hope that spring comes soon, but then, all the ice will seep thru the eaves and soak my ceilings. Well, such wonderful things to look forward to!!!
The nice thing, is the sun has shown the last couple days, I’ve had rainbows in my rooms from my prisms, and I am at peace with the world. Hugs to you, thanks for the writing.

Hi Linda,

Love your books. and enjoying reading about your family. Family gatherings are the best. We had a good weekend too. Went to see the new Kevin Costner movie, it was good. A lot of young kids were there and clapped at the end. It was very warm here in CA, in the 80’s, feel bad for everyone having such bad weather all the other places. But with Spring almost here, it will be better for all.
Comment
Glad I wasn’t the only one to have a happy Monday. Mine, because there is evidence that spring is coming soon! The day was filled with sunshine and melting snow/ice.

Kids, dogs and horses. Does life get any better than that? Our Dalmation and yellow lab, loves their daily walks. On the flip side, my six grandchildren (ages 1 – 9) keep me hopping. Luckily, living in sunny CA gives us the opportunity to be outside a big part of the year. I spent the weekend running around after the grandkids, as they played in the sprinklers. Nothing better than family time!

My 90 year old father calls his Great Granddaughters Gracie and Rosie; he is a hoot! Now I want to be a Grandmother! Have a great week!

It was such a lovely weekend here in Mead! We had my sweet older dog out running in the yard with the younger dogs and she ended up a little lame. Poor old girl has arthritis, as she did when I rescued her a few years ago, and although she gets her vitamins and glucosomine daily, she is having such trouble this year. I am so thankful the weather hasn’t been more severe as I shudder to think of what a harsh winter would have done to her comfort and abilility to get around easily. I have seen so many signs that she is taking a turn and I am treasuring each day we have with our sweet Lucy as I don’t know how many we may have left. I am excited for warmer weather as she loves to sunbathe and let the sun soak into her aching bones!

Think my great nephew is about that same age. Love the kiddos. I can remember a trip to zoo with Cohen, before Bailey came along he was petting & feeding animals. Got to where you could feed the giraffes, that was funny. That long tongue come out to got that treat he wasn’t holding it any longer, we would put our hand under his not making him feed them that tongue would come out, we were feeding them. Haven’t asked his mom but think he’s over that. I’m proud of him & his siater. Have two great nieces I have yet to meet, though I’m glad I get pics & there is face book. My sister had to work so I was on my own. I made oatmeal cookies and beef and vegetable soup. Made enough cookies to send in with my sister for her coworkers. Did some reading and some embroidery both favorite hobbies. I retired a year ago and am thinking of what to do next now that I have been retired for awhile? The winter has been so harsh in upstate NY this year, as it has in many places. I can’t wait to be able to get put in the garden!

Last week was spring break. I re-read TATE, GARRETT, and AUSTIN on Monday. If only I could write as fast as I read!
I spent more time with my nose (and my heart) buried in your books this week than I did doing any thing else.
So, thank you for a fabulous spring break. I was in Texas with the McKettricks, Arizona with a McKettrick and a famous singer. I was in Parable and in Stone Creek, Montana. I even managed a side trip to Primrose Creek. You took me everywhere!
Blessings,
Lorelei
