Our winners this week are: Alisa Boisclair and Cari. Each of you will be receiving an autographed copy of my latest books.
A new contest begins now. As usual, two winners will be chosen at random, notified by Jen, announced on the blog next Monday, and will each receive an autographed book.
I was so into my new book today that I didn’t even remember to EAT until around 3:00pm–I didn’t even feel hungry. This might be because I’m eating Paleo these days–and, no, I’m not quitting Weight Watchers. I really need the support and accountability of the weekly meetings, and I need the other members and our wonderful leader, Elizabeth, even more.
Wendy and Jeremy are parking their RV in my driveway and spending the night. This is a happy/sad time for us–they are moving to the San Diego area. I’m happy for them, but of course I will miss them hugely–along with their dogs, Lily and Margie, and the kitty, Cooper.
Tomorrow I’ll list the ingredients for Mushroom Broth, and some of you have requested.
Stay warm, and be kind.

Hi Linda. I’m so sorry to hear super Jen is moving away. San Diego is where I was raised. A beautiful city to have a family. That was many years ago for me and today I’m back in San Diego to bury my mother tomorrow. Her passing is a wonderful thing as she suffered with Alziehiemers for 12 years plus. My family is at peace and we will miss our mother of 3, grandmother of 4, and great-grandmother to 9. A beautiful life of 93 years.
Now I can read the book I won in one of your posts. I tried reading while sitting with mom but have no clue what I was reading. Now I can get back to pleasure reading.
Jen will be back to Washington soon. It’s home for her.
Best wishes for this holiday season.

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve lost your mom. God bless you and yours.

You stay warm too! We had a little snow on the west side of the state which leads me to think you’ve had more.

Linda, bad, bad should not be missing meals because than when you eat you over eat.
Looking forward to the Mushroom Broth recipe.
Don’t work too hard.

I am interested to hear how the paleo diet works, a cousin of mine has MS and she tried it on someone’s suggestion she felt better, lost a lot of weight she didn’t need to lose but it was difficult to stay on.

Your breakfast must have been a good one!! Take it easy and keep on writing!!

Congrats to the winners! Sorry to here about Jen moving but sometimes it works out for them. As far as the cold goes I hate the cold. I like the temps to stay up around 70 but we don’t always get what we want. Husband is taking down his 75 gal fish tank to set up another one after I clean here for a month. The one he has had started to leak so now he has bought a new one and setting it up. He is loosing his job at the end of the month but still bought a fish tank and I am not to happy about it.

Wonderful to always read your blog! I am glad the Paleo is working out for you! Knowing that your loved ones are moving away is always difficult, but thank goodness for the Internet! You can keep in touch in many ways!

Why are Wendy & Jeromy moving to San Diego? You mentioned few years ago they had decided to get married, did that ever happen? If it did I must have missed it :-/. Wish them well & safe travels – know how you much you will miss them, but y’all will just have to visit often!

Much happiness and a safe journey for Jeremy and Wendy!

Hi Linda. Had to smile when you said stay warm! I’m trying to keep cool!!! It is quite warm here in Brisbane Australia

I have been interested in Paleo but it is difficult to switch when the other person in the house (ahem) isn’t really interested in doing so. I guess that comes from being male, 6″4″ and able to burn calories a lot faster than I can. Ah well, baby steps….

So sorry to here that your daughter and son in law are moving so far away from you. Hope you get the chance to visit often

Paleo does work and I am rarely hungry. I do include dairy though. We expect a real cold spell here in Reno a lot like what you have in Spokane. Stay warm!

Sorry your daughter is moving away. I live far from my mother and I miss living closer.
Stay warm.

Think of Wendy’s move as an opportunity to travel and explore! I finished The Lawman’s Christmas for the nth time – I read it EVERY Christmas. Clay and Dara Rose as wonderfully strong characters, and Edrina is a caution. Next up will be Christmas in Mustang Creek. I’m happy to see there will be a new book out next fall in time for Christmas.

It is humorous how writers are usually very similar to one another. I am working on my own novel and I always forget to eat when I am too focused too.
Must be in our genes.
I am looking forward to the delicious soup recipe.
Early Merry Christmas!

Congratulations to this week’s winners! So happy you are giving us the recipe for the broth. I’m looking forward to trying it.
Have a great week, and Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.

Give you credit for trying your diets. I could afford to lose a few. I can’t seem to stick to one. Know you’ll miss your daughter but it may be fun when you have the time to go & visit,

Thank you for giving us incentives to lose wait. What is paleo? Is it filling? Good luck to your daughter and her husband. I agree you will have a nice place to visit. Have a blessed week! Congrats to the winners!

It’s cold and wet here which provokes aches and pains so don’t feel much like cooking.

How exciting for Wendy & Jeremy: Christmas in San Diego! I hope they will have a lot of fun there.

Now you’ll have a great reason to visit beautiful San Diego! Hope you’re doing great!

Being away from family at Christmas is always hard. But we keep them in our hearts everyday, don’t we.
