Stuff and, perhaps, nonsense

I’m glad to report I did well at Weight Watchers yesterday–down 2.6 pounds.  I’m back on what used to be called Simply Filling, and doing well.  For a while there, I really slacked off and, of course, I began to gain weight again.  Yikes!  For a long time, I just couldn’t seem to get my head in the right place.  For me, mindset is everything, no matter what I’m attempting to do, and in most cases, I can change my attitude by turning a few mental screws.  This time, it was a real challenge–a job for God.

After much fervent prayer, I finally managed the shift.  A big part of the project is simply having the right food on hand–if I get too hungry, and my blood sugar dips, all bets are off.  I will eat anything quick and easy–a Quarter Pounder, for instance.  Now, while I certainly haven’t sworn off fast food–that’s the beauty of Weight Watchers, no food is off-limits–I can’t indulge as often as I’d like–unless I want to be fat.  And I don’t.

Jenni gave me a great quote she found on Facebook: Losing weight is hard.  Being fat is hard.  Choose your hard.

Wise words.

On the dog front, Mowgli chewed the back out of one of my brand new hightop shoes this morning, while I was in the bathtub.  I try to be careful about closing my closet door, but I must have been thinking about one of the several writing projects brewing in my brain.  I heard him chewing industriously–he and Tule were on my bed–but figured it was the antler he’s been working on since yesterday.  Alas, no.  Another shoe has bitten the proverbial dust–preceded by two or three pairs of slip-on Sketchers and a favorite slipper or two.  From now on, new shoes will be stored in their boxes, on shelves.

That silly little critter.  He’s lucky I love bad dogs.  :)

Your dog’s do give a good laugh. That saying Jenni gave you was a good one. Keeping oneself on the the right path is hard but it is good in the long run. Have a good weekend.

Dogs do love shoes. I know the dog across the street from me has carried one of my mowing shoes off so I had to come up with another pair to mow the lawn in. I was keeping my mowing shoes in a crate on the back porch but not anymore. Its not the first time this has happened. I did return one of their childs shoes that was in my yard, the dog must have traded a little shoe for my big shoe.I love Jenni’s say about lossing weight. :-P

I am dieting also. I am just cutting down on calories and doing some exercise. Sometimes it gets very frustrating, but I am determined. The strange thing is that when I diet I love to bake. I bake cookies and cakes and give it to my kids and their families. People ask me how I do all that baking while dieting. I tell them that is my diet, I fatten everyone else up around me and I feel thinner in comparison. LOL. I think I do it because baking and cooking relaxes me.
I love the quote Jenni gave you.

Fur babies are just so adorable they can get away with just about anything. Even though trainers will say it’s wrong, their cute little faces will always win our hearts.

Doesn’t it feel good to be back on track, I slipped way longer than you did, but we are doing the 5-2 plan, 2 days per week of restricted calories, and I am down 5.5 in 3 weeks. Feel better about myself, and much more in control.
Love the puppy stories, dogs are such a joyous part of our lives.

I’m in the process of trying to lose weight also. The best thing I bought to help me was a cookbook “5 ingredient Diabetic Cookbook.” I’m not diabetic but was told about this & have been using it since January 16th & have lost 36 pounds. I eat about 150 grams carbohydrates. If I go out to eat & go over the 150, I make sure I walk or some form of activity. With only 5 ingredients it is quick & easy I don’t eat fast food for convenience.
