Why do I love Weight Watchers? Well, there are many reasons, but one of the main ones is–wait for it–bananas are a power food! They are free on both the Simply Filling and Points Value programs. Yeehaw! I was actually UP 1.2 pounds this week, but it doesn’t worry me. As long as I track my food in my journal and attend the weekly meetings, it’s all good.
I had a 7:30 am doctor’s appointment this morning, and I’ve been running ever since–well, okay, I did take a nap :)–hence another evening blog. As many of you know, I’m a big believer in alternative medicine; I swear by acupuncture, for instance, and the more I learn about Energy Medicine (check out Donna Eden’s Youtube videos or her books), the more excited I get. But there are times when good ole Western medicine is just the ticket; when a painful corn/callous forms on the bottom of one’s foot, for instance. I’m thrilled to be walking without pain! You can bet that went into my gratitude journal.
I meant to mention “All the Light We Cannot See”, the book we talked about on the blog recently. I finished it several days ago and I was blown away by how good it was. As of now, I’m listening to “Every Fifteen Minutes”, Lisa Scottoline’s new suspense novel.
What are YOU reading? Or listening to?

Linda, I’m glad you’re now walking pain free. And, I’m glad you’re not getting upset about the tiny weight gain. I’d be happy as a jay bird if I only gained that much in a week’s time.
I tried on about 10 pairs of jeans, (given to me), this morning, and couldn’t fasten any of them. Then I turned right around and put on a smaller sized pair and they fit. Go figure.
Anyway, I was glad to see another log from you this week.
Take care!

I forgot to say I am reading Magnolias by Jacquelyn Cook. It is 4 complete novels in one big book. I’m only on the second one, but so far, it is about the south right before and during the Civil War. And, appears to be about one particular family. If you like Historical books, you’d enjoy this one, I think.

Read all your books. Waiting for a new one. Reading so old ones by Joan Johnston. Great writing. Love her Cowboy books. I have reread most of yours, so that shows how interesting they are. I have the same problems with my feet, corns and callous on my feet along with hammer toes, so have all kinds of problems with my feet. Right now I have a blister on a callous from all the walking I have been doing. I have been to a foot doctor before and he just brushed it off and sent me for Brookes snickers. By the way I will be buying bananas this next week when I got shopping. I just can’t seem to eat many bananas.

My “country boy” husband swears by duct tape for foot problems. Actually, I believe that is a “man” thing… My first husband worked in a sheetmetal shop and when I got our wedding proofs, I noticed the duct tape on his thumb!
This morning I finished reading the third book of R C Ryan’s, McCord cousins and started Cowboy Fever by Joanne Kennedy. Waiting for a couple of books coming out later this year.

I just finished reading Kristin Hannah’s book, The Nightengale. What a powerful WWII story about two sisters who survived the harsh realities of the war. You don’t see many stories from that time told from a woman’s perspective.

Hey Linda well I love banana’s, I am over weight, I had weight loss surgery years ago and lost weight then gained it back but now cuz of the surgery I found out last year and still dealing with it my liver isn’t working and making the iron my body needs to make the cells to make my organs work so I have to go in every month and have blood work done and every 2 months to have Iron infusions because of the surgery eating or drinking things high in Iron doesn’t work my body won’t absorb any of it because of the surgery, I wanted to have it reversed but my doctor said it would cause more problems,so I eat banana’s a lot, I love them, I hope you have a great weekend, love hugs and prayers always xoxoxxoxox
