I never watch this program live–I always seem to be doing something else when it’s on–but I Tivo every episode. Last night I watched the season finale, and I heard something I’d like to write on my office wall in big letters. Bishop T.D. Jakes said, “What you feed, grows.”
Now, I know that’s simple. But for me at least the simplest lessons are often the hardest ones to learn.
What you feed, grows.
Hmmm. Feed love, and it will grow. Feed patience, and it will grow. Feed kindness–well, you get the idea.
But if we feed resentment, or disappointment, or anger–well, that will grow, too. A sobering prospect, to say the least.
Yesterday, I mentioned my prayer pockets. Now I plan to set some of them aside for notes of gratitude, too.
So I’m doing my best to plant good things in my little corner of the universal garden. What will you be planting?
