Submit your questions on today’s comment section, and I’ll choose ten and answer them either tomorrow (it’s Weight Watchers day, so always a crapshoot when it comes to the blog) or Thursday. Regarding Weight Watchers, I’ve been sticking to the points plan, drinking my water and exercising all week, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for a weight loss at tomorrow’s meeting.
I’ve discovered a new podcast that I really enjoy, and want to pass the info on to those of you who struggle with weight. It’s called “Primal Potential”, and you can find it on iTunes or wherever you like to download podcasts. This woman makes a lot of sense, and she has a 140 pound weight loss to back up her theories. She follows the paleo plan, which isn’t my thing, but she’s an expert on nutrition and she has some really good pointers that will benefit anyone. I especially appreciate her small-increment process. She says if you go all gung-ho and get too crazy restricting your food and exercising like a maniac, you will lose weight–for a while. Then your body will adjust to the new normal and you will have a MUCH harder time losing more. Give her a try and let me know what you think.
Our weather is still overcast, but I believe we’re getting a shipment of sunshine tomorrow. I will be VERY glad to see it.
I’m reading the first book in Andrea Perron’s trilogy, entitled “House of Darkness, House of Light”, and can hardly put it down. (I love that quality in a book–when it’s un-put-downable, I mean.) The movie “The Conjuring” was based on her family’s experiences in a haunted house–I won’t be seeing that movie, by the way, because I’m allergic to violence–and the trilogy is her detailed account of what actually happened. (Needless to say, Hollywood tweaked the facts a little.) Since today is new-book day on Audible.com (I LOVE this site), I loaded up. I swear, I must renew my “yearly” membership every other month or so, that’s how addicted I am! I’ll let you know which ones I love.

It’s sunny and 64 in Austin Texas it was 82 yesterday, but we had that cloudy and icky weather for awhile glad the sun is back! Good luck at your weighin tomorrow!

HI Linda! I wish you well tomorrow at WW’s and with the sunshine.

Do you ever read any western romances or historical romances?

I sent my same old question in yesterday hoping you’ll have time to answer it. :0)
Wishing you the best tomorrow at your weigh in!

I found a book of yours I hadn’t known about or read before. Someone had left it in the condo library and it’s delightful…WILD ABOUT HARRY, published in 1991.

Do you have a list of your favorite audio-books? I haven’t done any yet because I still like the feel and smell of the “real” book in my hands.

Best of luck ith your WW weigh in & plan !

I have been eating grain-free/paleo for a number of months and have lost 2 sizes. The problem with many grains and oils are the GMO changes and the toxic ingredients in so much of our food. The point being it is critical to our health to know what has been done to change our basic food. It isn’t the same as what our grandparents ate.
If you choose, you can learn much from the website: foodbabe.com/investigations and how the food industry has overprocessed our food to death. And what about the additives.?
Blessed be always in all ways.

Best wishes for ww tomorrow. Do plan on any more McKettrick or Creed books ?

I have tried all kinds of weight loss, back in October I was diagnosed with severe food allergies which in turn have led to some weight loss (I must admit not the way you want to lose weight but effective none the less), it’s probably similar to paleo eating since it’s no processed foods, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, corn free, and multiple others.
Good luck with your weigh in
Comment
Hi Linda, are you ever going to write more about the McKettricks? I just love those books. Especially Jesse, Rance and Keegan!

Wish you the best of luck on WW weigh in tomorrow!!

Look out WW here she comes! Hope its all good news for you Linda!
and I must be a responsible American patriot and pray (some years much harder than others) for my leaders.
…thx for answering our questions. Love to hear your side of the story/ies….no pun intended.
Someone already asked one of mine….any more McKettricks or Creeds? Please please, please, please! Maybe a Yarbro? More from Sam O’B’s? Wonder if “My Darling Melissa” and her feisty sisters in law got their men folk in hand. But my fav always will be those darned, but totally awesome McKettricks! How dreary my literary world without those irascible, irresistible, irreplaceable folks! God Bless you Mz Linda!
My other totally unrelated question had to do with your dear little fellow that was initially struggling but last I heard was good….I mean, if as what you said was true….and I know Mz LLMiller is ALWAYS right, this is to one day be my president,
Sorry for prattling on

Linda, I went back to re-read my questions from February 5th and they have disappeared completely. I wanted to re-ask a couple of them, hoping you could answer them.
You did answer about your mom being better and back at home. I’m glad she is better.
Do you know what happened to them, for them to show up and then, just disappear? I’m just gobsmacked.

Linda, do you know a Kathleen Delaney? The reason I ask is…I did ask you how to get a book published, or find an agent, or something like that, and then…I got an E-mail from a Kathleen Delaney and it was something about publishing books. I didn’t open the link as I didn’t know where it came from.
Thanks for anything information you can give me.

Linda, the best of luck at your WW weigh in tomorrow.well, it’s about 32 degrees here which is like a mini heat wave with previous temps being below zero with the wind chill factor. Now they are saying Snow tomorrow. Hope it doesn’t as the sow drifts ate so big now. Have a good night.

Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow. My question is, have you published somewhere a family tree of the McKettricks, Creeds, and others intertwined with them? If so, I’d love to see it, as I haven’t been reading the books in order and am confused about who is descended from whom, etc. Thank you

Note to Beth:
Re the family tree:
I just went back through Linda’s books and made notes about who married whom, who was related to whom and how, and put it all on two poster boards taped together and voila: your own family tree(s). And because you made it yourself, it makes more sense, and you don’t forget .

Wow, Billie! Any chance you could take a pic of your tree and send it to me or the blog? I know the line started with Angus but I haven’t read the earliest ones yet, I read them as my library gets them on ebooks. Yes, I buy some of the books as I don’t think the author gets much if any royalties on ebooks, does she?
Anyway, hope you can send a pic to rlandre@aol.com. Thanks so much.

Good luck with WW tomorrow. If you get any sun would appreciate it if you would send some this way. I am tired of this dreary weather. I to would love to see more McKettricks! Any chance ?
Also do you read western romance and could you recommend some ? Thank you

How do you choose the names of your characters, and do you visualize real people when you describe them in your books?
I love all you great books and, was lucky enough to meet you at a book signing in Billings. Are you planning a trip that way, maybe on a visit to Montana Silversmiths? Thanks again.

I also love Audible.com. I just wish that they had your earliest books available. I loved Banner O’Brien, and would love to listen to it. I got JD Robb’s newest In Death book today and it is just as good as the other 39 volumes which I also bought from Audible.com. I own some of your most recent books on Audible.com, but can’t find the earliest. I wish you and your publisher could change that.

Hope you answer the questions I posted 2 or 3 blogs back.

I definitely have to try the Primal Potential podcast. My oldest daughter has gotten me into the Paleo diet. Since I’ve been told I have to eat a low carb diet due to health problems this diet actually works for me. I want to read the books you mentioned too. I enjoy these type of real life stories. Good luck at WW.

I used to smoke. When I got my divorce, I dropped the 2-3 pack a day habit like it was nothing. That was 22 years ago. I do well with cold turkey. If you go “cold turkey” to lose weight, you die! I guess I have to learn how to do reasonable.
