Monday evening, a dear friend’s husband lost his brave battle with cancer.
In addition, we recently lost Jo Beverley, a writer I have known for many years.
So many good-byes.
If possible, I will blog tomorrow, and try to be more cheerful. In the meantime, I need to reflect.
And to write. Words read, words written. Both have the power to heal.

The losses are so tough. I’m sorry for yours. I lost my oldest son and mom within six months of each other and just now, now that my mom’s house is finally sold, I have the opportunity to grieve for both of them. He was so young, she was so old. Both had full lives until the end so I thank God for that. Words read have helped me immensely, as has my total acceptance of God in my life. I’ll pray for you.

Dear Linda
So sorry to hear about your losses. I too have recently experienced devastating losses, my dear brother in-law Feb.15, my brother and his wife March 9th, All this year. I haven’t been on line much since their deaths but am now trying to get back in the swing of things. As a retired counselor(which included Grief counseling) I still have to process the pain in order to heal, just as everyone else. The pain is real but so is our God and in time we will move forward and life will return to some balance again. I will remember you in my prayers. God bless you and the families of those who have passed. Sincerely Dixie J. Hadley

Years ago at the funeral of a child in our church the minister said that every day God walks through his garden to gather a bouquet. Some flowers are just beginning to bud, some are in full bloom, while others are past their prime. Your friends have found their places in God’s beautiful bouquet.
In the Newbery Award winning book Sounder, the teacher said that when a flower blooms it blooms forever in the eyes of those who see it. Even children’s literature can teach us life’s lessons.

I lost my husband on May 10th after a battle with cancer. I miss him so much and I hurt so bad. So please send my sympathy to your friend. I know her pain and it’s horrible.
My Mom then fell on May 23 and broke her hip. She had surgery on the 24th and we came home yesterday.
This whole year just has not been good. I have now had my first anniversary with out my husband here to celebrate with me and his birthday is next week. It’s going to be a rough month.
Thinking of you and your friend at this horrible time.
