Left to right, Jenni, me and Wendy, posing for a selfie at Spokane’s beautiful Manito Park. What a heavenly place! We enjoyed a picnic there yesterday, after Weight Watchers, and it was a wonderful experience. You can bet it was included in my gratitude journal.
We visited the lovely Japanese Garden, a prime place to meditate.
If I look happy, it’s because I am, the 2 pounds I gained over my birthday week notwithstanding. They’re focusing on personal happiness and mindfulness at Weight Watchers, and I think that’s cutting-edge. There is so much evidence out there that a healthy weight is about so much more than food.
So here’s hoping this little put-a-picture-in-the-blog experiment actually works. (I’m using a different computer.) If I succeed at this, there will be lots of pictures in future blogs.
So. Did you start that gratitude journal yet?

I haven’t actually started a journal yet. But, I so loved your idea of appreciating things in my day, that every night I go over it in my mind what I appreciate about my day. Someday I may get to writing it down. Thank you for the idea!

Linda, thanks for sharing the selfie. You all look happy. I spent the last two days in the hospital so I started my gratitude journal today. #1 on my list grateful nothing is seriously wrong # 2 that I’m home again. #3 that my husband is a sweetie # 4 that my husband said that he now knows the difference between a house and a home. It’s a “home” when I am here with him
# 5 grateful for air conditioning since it is unusually hot today in the north Georgia mountains.
Have a great day and thanks for reminding us about the gratitude journal.

I did not start my journal yet but after the shooting in South Carolina, I went and bought me a notebook. Time to stop procrastinating. When my daughter gets here in 2 weeks, I will take her out to buy a journal also. We are blessed.

Nice picture Linda, great to see you getting around so well after your sprained ankle. Hope you had a wonderful picnic. Keep up the good work.

Yes, thanks to your leadership, I do have a gratitude journal. As I do most of my writing on the computer, I’ve put my gratitude journal there also. Blessings to you and yours. While a picnic sounds awesome, we are so inundated with water from the record breaking rains that we are starting to have record breaking Mosquitos.

Mindfulness is an important key to healthy weight. A lot of mindless eating got me where I am today!!!!:(
Thank you for urging us to keep a gratitude journal, it’s a great way to stay mindful

Sounds like a great afternoon!

Love the photo. I’ve been practicing The Secret for a few years now so gratitude is a big part of my life. You just can’t say Thank you too many times.

That’s a really good picture on today’s blog! Wendy surely does look like you!
I’ve been a Weight Watcher for 13 months and have lost 25 lbs. I had hoped to lose more in that length of time, but I’m nearly 75 years old and my metabolism is measured in negative numbers! So I’m really happy with the 25 lbs.
I have begun a gratitude journal. It’s hard to limit myself to 5 things. But I guess if I wrote down everything, I wouldn’t have anything left for the following day.

I’m glad we got to meet Super Jen and Wendy.
I notice things throughout the day & say Thank You!
I do keep a gratitude journal. Gratitude has become a habit for me – for which I am grateful

Nice way to spend your birthday. Live is short, so yes, there has to be more to it than just focusing on your weight….
Have a great weekend!

What a terrific, happy photo! Please do this again. I’d love to
see one of you and Bernice on one of your walks. So what
happened to those 2lbs? Your message wasn’t too clear(to me, anyway). I’m sure you lost it. And yes, mother. I’m
starting my journal tonite. I think about all those things on
a daily (and sometimes in the middle of the nite) basis and
thank God, but I need to write them down. With all the
tragedies going on daily, it would be more uplifting than watch-
ing the news!

Very nice picture. Sounds like you had a really nice day

David and I had an afternoon in Spokane before flying out the next day, so we ‘did’ a bit of the city. We were very impressed, we found the Japanese garden and enjoyed a few minutes’ rest before moving on.
