Yay! It’s new book day, also known as Tuesday.
I’m happy to report that the contest is back, and it is underway as we speak. As before, 2 winners will be selected at random, notified, and announced on the blog next Monday. Each winner will receive an autographed copy of one of my books. Just comment, and you’re in.
For a couple of days now, I’ve been getting to my computer by 7 or 7:30 am, and I’m loving it. The story, NORTH OF EDEN, is really flowing, and I’m so excited about the project, I can hardly get myself to stop writing. Since one reaches a point of diminishing returns at some point, it’s better to pace myself.
The mother of the bride and I are still recovering from Jen and Dustin’s fabulous wedding on the third of September, but the bride and groom, just back from their glamorous tropical honeymoon, are in fine shape. I guess the 30 year age gap makes a difference!
There are a million things I ought to do this afternoon, but I think I’ll take a nap instead.

So glad the happy couple are home. It is never easy coming down from wedding happiness. It sounds like you are pacing yourself. That is good for maintaining balance.

I am really looking forward to this book. Sometime we just have to let things go and take a nap, I don’t do it often but I do sometime. I did take a short one yesterday after mowing the lawn, I was worn out and think it was because of it being so hot. So ready for some cooler weather not cold but cooler would be great.

Love naps. Had one with my Grandson this afternoon.

You sound so happy. A nap sounds good to me too.

North of Eden sounds as though it will be quite entrancing. I am looking forward to what has got your finger’s glued to the keyboard or pen.

Weddings are wondrous occasions, always full of love, family, and good memories. Weddings are a once in a lifetime event too and should be cherished for the gems that they are. As one can probably tell, I love attending weddings. Good cake. Good company. Good dancing.
No age gap can keep one from indulging in a restful nap every now and then. My favorite way to nap is to curl up into my most fuzzy blanket with a cup of Sleepy-Time-Tea while I watch a rerun of a decent sitcom or sports game. That combination is quite effective in making my fast-moving brain tired. I hope you enjoy your nap and the memories you accrued from the wedding. My cheers to the happy couple

So glad you have the flow of writing! Hahahaha! So true! I would still be recovering too a week or so after a wonderful wedding. I am most certain you did a lot to make the wedding couple feel special.

I really enjoy reading your books. I picked one up (A Creed in Stone’s Creek) in a book swap while waiting for my Mom at a Doctor’s Appointment and have been hooked ever since. Love the Creed’s and now the Carson’s. Thank you for my relaxing moments, reading your books.

And you well deserve that nap! Mother of the bride duties can be exhausting! And since the writing is going so well you can take a break. I don’t think that will go away real soon. I love hearing about your family and your writing. Have a great week!

Thank you so much for your personal essay included with Always a Cowboy. I will be 83 years old next month and while reading your story, it brought back memories of my “good old days” which had its good times woven with struggles.

I think naps are a daily requirement.

I would love to see you go back to the past with your books. My favorite and probably always will be “Man from Stone Creek” gotta love that Sam O’Ballivan. Maybe you could write about Ben and what a great man he grew up to be. Not sure about Tarin. But Ben would be a great story for you to write.
Congrats on the new book. Love your books.

Congrats to the couple. Naps are always good. They are relaxed because they are in love and nothing is wrong in their world. Plus they just got back from a vacation by themselves.
Comment
I’d love to take a nap, but I’ve got 24 6th graders headed my way in about 4 minutes. Think I’ll pray instead.
Comment
Loved your comment! Praying is an excellent alternative. Just postpone the nap. LOL!

“There are a million things I ought to do this afternoon, but I think I’ll take a nap instead.”
LOL! I want to have a nice, classy-designed sign, having that sentence, displayed on my desk at work. Right next to my calendar having pictures of tropical beaches. In other words, the temporarily unattainable delights of life.
(Gloria, I think you’ve said the same thing to me recently.)

Exited about the October contest. Love the Blazin’ Roxx western handbag and Panama Jack straw hat with wood-beaded hatband; and, as usual, the new ALWAYS A COWBOY book. Staying hopeful to win in the “HAPPY NEW BOOK DAY” contest, also.
