#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

Glory be, more sunshine!

Who knows how long this lovely weather will last, this being spring and therefore a most unpredictable season, but I’m enjoying every moment of it.  Yesterday, we had rain and guess what?  That was nice, too.  :)

It’s time to plant some zinnias in my indoor mini-greenhouse from Walmart–I have my dad’s great love for zinnias, roses and, of course, PEONIES, my absolute favorite blossom of all.  I skipped the deck garden last year, but this year I think I’ll try again.  Growing things are so soothing, aren’t they?  I have three HUGE plants in my house–the African Violet finally kicked the bucket but the others are thriving–and I think of my brother, Jerry, and his wife, Anna, with much love, every time I look at one of those lush green beauties.  Why?  Because a few years ago, they sent me a plant basket for my birthday, and I repotted all of them, then so tiny and fragile.  One of them is so tall now that we had to move it from my room to the living room, where the ceilings are higher.  Call me crazy, but I KNOW that plant is a lot happier now that it can stretch its spine.

Just finished listening to Eloisa James’ memoir, “Paris in Love”.  It was wonderful–took me right back to the City of Lights, which I visited often when I was younger and lived in nearby London for much of the year.  We didn’t have blogs then–Eloisa’s book was based on blog and journal entries–but I do have a few hand-written journals from my travels.  Whenever I look at them, I’m right back in that particular time and place, in an instant–time travel, Linda-style  :)  Listening to the memoir made me want to read some of her romance novels–I like her voice and her spirit.  A professor of Shakespearean studies, she’s wildly intelligent, but her writing style is lively and entertaining, not academic at all.

I’m into Joe Vitale’s “Zero Limits” right now (my reading/listening tastes are nothing if not eclectic), and let me tell you, this is a mind-blowing book!  It sounds like so much rah-rah-rah, go-for-the-gold, if you don’t look past the title, but the meat of it is super-spiritual.  If you’re a seeker, like me, I highly recommend it.  I’d tried to make sense of it once before, and failed, but now I must be ready, because I’m getting it.  And that is so exciting!

I’d better get back to the new book–a certain handsome McKettrick man is up you-know-what creek without a paddle, and I can’t just leave him there.  :)

Until tomorrow.

Eloisa James is one of my sister-in-law’s favorite authors – she is completely “into” English Regency romances, you know, riding around in coaches and wearing corsettes that men love to un-tie…Well, to each their own. GIVE ME AN AMERICAN COWBOY ANY DAY!!! :O) Hope your day is going great! Hilda
