#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

First of All, Thank You

Your kind words mean the world to me!  Thank you so much for reaching out.

Today, I have some questions for you.  Please respond in the comments below this blog:

1) Would you be interested in an LLM podcast or YouTube channel?  I would interview other authors, talk about my own books or books I have read and enjoyed, answer questions from listeners/viewers, etc.  (The one topic I won’t touch–politics!)

2) Would you like to see pictures, here and/or on Instagram or Facebook, of my artwork, my gardening projects, pets, etc.?  I’m into composting, and I keep worm bins, which might gross some of you out.  :)

3)Do you enjoy blogs about my hobbies, or would you rather I only blog about my books?

4)If you live in the Spokane area, would you be interested in meet-ups?  Lunch with Linda, etc.?  There would be a charge, as reasonable as I can make it, to cover my latest book and the food, but I would be available to chat, answer questions, sign books and the like.  I would be willing to do similar events in other cities if enough people sign up in advance.

5) Would you be interested in online book clubs, where we would discuss my books via Skype or some other modern communication system I do not understand?  :)  (Fortunately, my nephew Dustin is an IT wiz, so all these things are doable.)

    2. I already follow several authors on Facebook and love seeing what they post — not always book related. Seeing pics of your hobbies, etc. would be interesting.
    4. As I also live in Spokane, I would love to meet up with you at some point.

I like all things about you. I would prefer you tube. I also like the idea of pictures of your hobbies, pets and artwork. If you were near me in the northeast I would certainly try and be there to meet you and get a book signing. I have been reading your books for a very long time and enjoyed them very much.

I choose to live in the dark ages and don’t facebook/twitter, etc. so none of your options would work for me. I would LOVE to have lunch with Linda, but since I live in Kentucky that isn’t an optilon either. If you are ever in my area I would be more than happy for you to have lunch with Ann!!! Whatever route you take, please don’t quit the email blog!!

Your latest ideas are all wonderful! I listen to podcasts as I sew or take walks, and I’d be very interested in yours. I would love to see photos of your projects, both artwork and gardening, and especially your pets! I have been considering starting worm bins and would love to hear of your experience with that. As far as possible meet-ups and a book club, those are both genius ideas. I live about an hour and a half south of Spokane and come up there occasionally. I once read of you having a meet and greet type event at one of the libraries there and wished I could have gone that day. It definitely sounds like you plan on being an even busier lady in the near future!

Linda, I am interested in all of your ideas. Unfortunately, I live in western NY so meeting in Spokane is out-of-the-question. I have read your books and believe I have read all but a few. Hope these ideas pan out for you.

I enjoyed your blog the way it used to be – about anything & everything. I am not much of a podcast or video person. I would enjoy anything you wish to post about on Facebook.

They would all be interesting but I don’t go on FB that often. Instagram would be great. I’m definitely wanting to check out podcasts and would listen to yours if u made one. I’m not sure how often I could participate in a book club due to health issues but I would definitely Skype into a few. Lol. Your interests parallel several of mine, so I’d love to hear more on those.

I would be more interested in YouTube and I would be interested in your work and research you do being jumping in to write your next novel. I found it absolutely fascinating when you talked in your blogs about some of the things you had done, were doing, and had planned for the future to research the Civil War and life during that era. I would also be interested in some of the things you are doing around your ranch. Am I right, that you don’t have any of your horses any more? I found that very sad.

I would love it is you put together a lunch event to chat with you. I’m a Seattle native, although I now live in Marana, on the NW corner of Tucson. All my family still lives in the Seattle area, so I’m up there usually from mid-August to the first week of Sept. I love eastern WA and have spent many wonderful vacations in Winthrop, Twisp, and with family, and still have friends who live in Spokane. I would drive over in a heartbeat if I knew you were having a gathering during my time back home.

I would love pictures on the blog. I find the things you talk about besides your books very interesting.
I am technically challenged and not up for any of the other things mentioned.
Alas I am located in Canada far from Washington State so meet ups are not a possibility either. Do you ever hit the big city of Toronto? I am sure you have a plethora of fans here.

Hi Linda, Thanks so much for the personal touch in getting back to me. Following are my answers to your questions:
    1. Yes – Prefer You Tube. Glad it won’t include politics.
    2. Yes, even the worm bins.
    3. Yes, I love to see what hobbies others have, especially authors. (Like Debbie Macomber and her knitting projects)
    4. I live in the Phoenix are so, unfortunately, although I would love to “do lunch”, it would be a stretch to get to Spokane. Perhaps if you get here sometime, that would work.
5 – Not really interested in book clubs. Fran

I’m not into the social media arenas, so whatever you chose to talk about in your blog/email is fine with me. Grew up on a farm and have gardened over the years, so that is interesting to me. Oklahoma is not feasible for lunch, though.

I would be interested in anything you would be involved doing . I missed your blog of the animals and crops of your ranch . I have other online clubs and enjoy what each author is available for , both on Facebook or twitter or Pinterest. I always interested in hearing about other authors and their works. Would love to be at a live meeting but I work full time and live in Dallas – Ft Worth Texas area. At least for another few years.

Thank you for using this blog again

    Hello Linda and welcome back!
As a local with many connections to Northport and Flat Creek, I do understand that there has been so much happening to those you hold dear.
I think a pod cast would be awesome! I love it when you talk about your art and other areas of self-improvement. You inspire me!
I am local and would love to do a lunch/book club type meeting! Sign me up! We have so many awesome bistros and cafes that we could explore on a rotating basis or if you have a favorite that would cater to your needs that would be awesome as well.
I haven’t found any pod casts that I care to invest my time in, but I would be willing to jump on board if you were willing to invest your time and your nephew’s skills into creating one!

I like all of these ideas. Whichever one(s) you choose to do would be great. They all would mean more work for you and your team, so pace yourself… You have loyal fans who are interested in you, your writing, and all your interests.

If you decide the meet/greets in Spokane or other locations, a schedule or advance notice would be great. I live in FL and travel the country in a RV. Perhaps, I could travel to one of the locations.

    1. Yes! Especially YouTube.
    2. Yes! Several of the YouTube channels that I watch have instagram and Facebook accounts. They’re a great way to give little bits of information that are perhaps too important to wait for an entire YouTube video, or too small to devote to an entire YT video.
    3. Yes! I’d love to know more about you and what keeps you happy and kicking. (and writing–but if you’re like me, you can’t not write.)
    4. No. Arkansas (where I’ll be moving in June) is nowhere near Spokane. However, if you’re ever in Ft. Smith or Little Rock, the a resounding yes.
    5. I need a Dustin in my life. Yes, I will find one who can help me hook up the necessary equipment.
    Keep writing!
I bought Country Strong on Kindle this morning and read it. Real life has taught me that people tend to gravitate toward others who are in the same boat–even without any intent to do so.

    Hello There!

We met during the rodeo events in Las Vegas, when you were signing books at Paris, some recent years ago. My husband is a big, big fan. I scour library sales and such for your books, so he can have them to read over and over.

I especially wanted to tell you I am in sympathy about your mother. I was adopted (big, long fascinating story…) and know my biological mother did not care to meet me, but died one day before my August birthday in 2018.

I am so glad you know your mother is in Heaven. What a wonderful knowledge. I am going there, too!

Please know that so many are your fans. Love to you! Kay

p.s. I might be able to go to a lunch. It’s a great idea. I live in Oregon and have family in Montana.

Please respond to me in an email. Do you ever come to New York City? i love your books. You have such humanity to people, to animals and to African America and Asians, as well. I am a former English teacher and I have taught 5th grade through college, a former Dean of Admissions in a day school and then an Associate Dean of Admissions in a boarding school. I am in awe of your amazing sense of humor, coming from the mouthes of your characters. I am reading spring water Wedding, now, but I love so many of your characters is no many books, that I am thrilled every book that yo have written, and they are many. At my advanced age, I even love your love scenes. Sincerely, HPRJ
