#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

And now it’s Friday…

Mercy.  Friday?  Already?  It doesn’t seem possible.

This week’s winners are Cassandra and Dawn Roberts.  Congratulations, both of you.  By now, you’ve received an email from Super-Jen, and as soon as we have your details, your prizes will be on the way.  The new contest will begin on Monday, so be ready to comment.  Prizes: each winner will receive an autographed book (mine, of course).  One will receive a copy of Sherry Muchira’s CD, “All Things New”, and the other, one of my necklaces.

The stones, as I’ve mentioned before, have been dyed to resemble jade, but they’re actually dolomite and, trust me, that’s not a bad thing.  Dolomite has a nice buzz to it; I looked it up in one of my favorite references, THE BOOK OF STONES, by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian, and the news is good.  Keywords for this mineral: centeredness, calm, balance, moderation, and grounding.

Speaking of gemstones, if any of you have had experiences, I’d love to hear about them, and I’m sure your fellow blog-readers would, too.

I am SO close to finishing THE MARRIAGE PACT–looks as though it will be Sunday.  This has been a long and often difficult effort, but it has always been tremendously rewarding.  Go figure.

I’ve managed some reading/listening lately, during frequent rest periods–this cold is, believe it or not, still with me–the book I’m just finishing is called POSITIVITY, and the author is Barbara Frederickson, Phd., and it is wonderful–so, wonderful, in fact, that after we’ve finished our current batch of prizes, I’ll be giving away one copy per week for a full month.

Another book, this one printed, kept me up late last night–Annie Wilder’s fascinating SPIRITS OUT OF TIME, stories about her own paranormal experiences and those of her mostly-Irish family.  I could not put this book down, and I’m already two chapters into another of her books, HOUSE OF SPIRITS AND WHISPERS.  (This seems to be an account of buying, moving into and renovating a very haunted house–I’m not far enough along to say more.)  I just seem to be on a ghost kick these days–funny, considering I’m also very into THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, the Parallel Bible–thanks to Hilda and the others who reminded me of this excellent version, and my much-loved Daily Audio Bible.

The DAB crew is in Israel right now, as some of you may know.  They’re posting pictures on the Daily Audio Bible Facebook page and, even videos, if I understand correctly.  I visited the Holy Land myself, some years ago, with my dear friend, Jean Barrington, who is an ordained Lutheran pastor, and a bunch of other Lutherans, too.  :)  (Born a Presbyterian, I was the renegade in the crowd.)  We visited the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Dead Sea, Massada, and many other remarkable places.  Listening to the DAB podcast brings back wonderful memories of an amazing trip.  Soon, I’ll be taking off for Florence, Italy, and I hope to blog and tweet photos the whole time–Jen has promised to post the pictures on my Facebook page, as well.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful, healthy weekend.  Good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be posting every day next week.  I miss you when we’re out of touch.

Congratulations to Cassandra and Dawn Roberts. Enjoy your gifts.

Linda, I pray you have a good and Godly weekend, and feel better every day. Or, instead of dragging the “Getting Better” out, we can pray the bug, cold, and all other aftermaths of it will be gone before the weekend is over.

    Take care!

Can’t wait for your new book. I am sure I will read it too fast, but that is okay, as I can read it again.

Have a great week-end, and get lots of rest so you can get well.

Did you try to swim(float) in the Dead Sea. Amazing isn’t it?

Enjoy Florence, one of my favorites.

Congrats ladies. I still have my cold also but I am getting better. Have a great weekend ! I would love to visit the holy land some day. I remember a story my mom told me. During World War II my dad wrote my mom and addressed it to her. Her name happened to be Florence but the senur ? Crossed out her name so she knew where he was stationed. She always about that.

We have been trying to save money to send out two children on their Birthright trip to Israel. Born and raised Jewish, we have the opportunity to go with a group for free, but we have to pay airfare and food. And for two that is a bit of money. But my daughter (20 yrs.) works all summer at a Reformed Jewish Camp as a counselor all summer and truly loves it. Matter of fact she was a camper there when she was younger.
But I digress… Being from Arizona for 25 years, we took many road trips and frequently saw road side stands with fascinating jewelry with lots of Turquoise. I never really thought it was all that until I got older and learned more about the stone and the heritage of the Native Americans. Quite an interesting history.

Hope you start to feel better, this bug likes to hold on.

Hi Linda, here in Ontario we had a rain/snow storm complete with lightening and thunder last evening. It’s the third week of Feb and we’re still snowbound with temps in the minus. It’s hard to stay positive. I’m thinking I might buy some stones to give me some positivity. Take care, Eileen

Glad you are on the mend, even if a little cold is lingering. A lot of people have been sick then had relapses around here, too.

This isn’t a gemstone story, although I may have had my tormalated quartz on that day as it’s been a favorite since a small pendant “found” me at a craft show a few weeks ago. :) Anyway, I had a lingering cough from my sinusitis/bronchitis in Dec. Recently I was browsing for a birthday card and one of my coughs surprised me and then the tickle turned to a hack and I saw a lovely lady glance my way and seem startled. So I felt like I should reassure her that I was not contagious but had a lingering cough that just would not go away. She smiled and said a lot of people had a bug lately. I agreed and said I had gotten over it pretty quickly but this cough just kept on every now and then. She paused and then asked if I had some grief or sadness, no some grief that I was experiencing or had experienced recently? I was shocked but explained yes, I am in the midst of a divorce and it’s been a horrible time. We both got wide eyed and she said she is a nurse working at a holistic healing center and often a lingering cough (after all other symptoms are resolved) can indicate holding onto grief. We proceeded to chat like magpies and were amazed at the “coincidence” of meeting that way. She was so empathetic and encouraged me to find a way to let it go, to really release it and find peace. I actually had been struggling that week as it is coming up on various anniversary dates. So that helped me refocus and realize I was dwelling on the past too much. I just felt so amazed, there in the card aisle of the grocery store. Little miracles, angels among us, practical magic is all around us every day.

Blessings to you all! xoxo :)
