Now, THERE’s a combination for you.
Today, Wednesday, is acupuncture day, and I am sure looking forward to all that relaxation! People often cringe when I mention acupuncture–I guess they’re imagining skin bristling with heavy-duty tapestry needles and maybe even bloodshed. The truth is, the points on the needles are incredibly fine, and I don’t even feel most of them. Note, however, the word ‘most’. Some of them give me a pretty good twingle, to use my mom’s quaint but colorful terminology, but that’s because there’s stagnant chi (energy) in that particular spot, needing to be released, and the sting rarely lasts longer than a second or two. When I miss a visit, I really feel it.
In short, I’m a believer. For me, acupuncture is a great blessing.
Now, about the bracelet. With a lot of help from the brilliant folks at Montana Silversmiths–they make the fantastic silver buckles awarded to rodeo champions, among other lovely things–I designed the bracelet Zane gives to Brylee in “Big Sky Wedding.” It goes on sale soon, and I’ll make sure there’s a link here on the blog, so you can take a peek at it. Yes, it’s available for purchase, at what I think is a cowgirl-friendly price, and every penny of my share of any profits goes to fund the Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women, so if you buy one, you’re not only acquiring an heirloom-quality piece of jewelry, you’re helping somebody get a leg up in life. I’ll be giving away at least one bracelet right here on the blog, so stay tuned for more information.
Looks like a little rain might be blowing in–we had a humdinger of a thunder and lightning storm the other night, which I mostly missed because I was in bed, plugged into my iPod and listening to a book. (By the way, the Recorded Books version of “Big Sky Wedding” is available on iTunes, Audible.com, etc., and the narrator, Jack Garrett, has a real sexy cowboy voice, ala Sam Elliott.)
What was I listening to during the big storm? A suspense novel called, “After Her”–author’s name to follow because I can’t remember it at the moment–and DARN, it was a good story. I fell asleep before the ending but, fortunately, I happened to have a hardcover copy of the book as well, so instead of trying to rewind to the place I konked out, I flipped through the book instead and read the ending. Oh, this modern world. If you enjoy gritty–but not TOO gritty–suspense as I do, I’d recommend this one for sure.
That’s the news from the Triple L, for now anyway.
And don’t forget to comment–two winners of signed books will be notified tomorrow and announced on Friday.

Hello, signing in for a chance to win. I hope.
I’m telling you, Linda, you can sure pack a lot of info about several things in your blog and do it in a way that makes sense and you dont feel like it’s as wordy as Webster’s Dictionary. That’s a sign of a wondrrful writer. I don’t know if anyone agrees with me, but I don’t mind. You are my favorite author. I’ve always loved westerns and yours are riveting. I can’t wait to get to yhe next page and the next and it’s over so incredibly fast. I read fast and then I think on the story and mull it over in my mimd, I love the story but am sorry it’s over. Then when I get a new book, I’m ready to jump into the next one. Thank God for your blessed writing talent and God Bless You for sharing your gift with us.
Simcerely,
Bonnie Pruett

I’m a needle coward but did acupuncture for about a year to help with some allergy problems. There were sessions when I almost felt like I was in a trance- so relaxed. I knew what was going on around me but didn’t much care. I always left refreshed. Your blog has brought back memories of those times. The needles didn’t hurt. Some were about as big around as a hair.

I have not stop & brought your book yet but will this afternoon. I have read & reread so many of your books. I sure do enjoy them. Also, like reading your blog each day to see what you are up to now. I like how you write about your garden and how you like trying different items to cook. Keep up writing all these good books for us.
Have a good day

Have been too busy helping daughter-in-law today to start Big Sky Wedding. Will start it at 3 while waiting for school to let out. Itching to start it!
There isn’t one of your books that I haven’t been sad to finish.
For anyone afraid of acupuncture, it helped my husband after he had a bad stroke. His migraines were so bad. It would help him for weeks.
God Bless

Linda you have more nerve than I do. I could not lay there and let someone stick needles in me. I sure am glad you are going to show us the bracelet that Zane gave to Brylee who knows you might sell a lot that way and also for a good cause.

Finished Big Sky Wedding this morning. Love it! Every time I go to my 91 year old grandmas house she sends me home with either a bag or box full of what is usually junk…until last June, that is. On this particular day in June 2012, grandma put some “sexy cowboy” books in my bag. Now don’t worry, she warned me that they were sexy which embarrassed the heck out of me. Anyway, the books in my bag were the Creeds trilogy, I was hooked!! I was never a romance reader. I only read self help kind of books. You can’t get me to pick up a self help book these days, I’m to busy in cowboy land. I have read all of the McKettricks and Creeds and now all of the Big Sky books to date. Love them all and want more. I do have a question, is Nash pronounced Nash that rhymes with sash or NAsh that is short for Ignatius? My grandpa’s name was Ignatius and everyone called him Nash. I have 3 boys of my own and wanted one of them to be Nash after their great grandpa, but that didn’t happen. Love the name either way. Thanks for your wonderful stories!

Big Sky Wedding will be on my kindle on Friday. I can’t wait to get it. I got to read an excerpt from it the other day, and like the others, I’m hooked. I’ve read most of your books. Some of the older ones I can’t find. I’ve even borrowed from libraries from other towns. I do love me a sexy cowboy. Lol! I already have 2 of your new books for Dec and Jan pre ordered. I usually read when I’m babysitting the grandchildren or when boyfriend is not around. Lol. As far as acupuncture, maybe I should try it as alternative treatment for pain control for my back. I’ve had 9 back surgeries. Keep creating these great romances, Linda and I’ll keep buying them. I’m addicted. Much love, Jini

I tried Acupuncture back in 2001 when I was having issues with my Kidneys. I was diagnosed June 2000 with Lupus Nephritis and a rare form of Kidney disease. My legs were swollen to the point of them hurting because the skin was stretched badly. One of my co-workers mentioned Acupuncture and I decided to give it a try. It made me fell much better. The area near the inside of the ankle is connected to the Kidneys and on the days when I’d go get treated that area would weep fluid once they put the needle in. It was an amazing experience for me to actually feel good. I kept going back for about 6 months and then the person moved to Boston so I never went back but things did get better for me. I was on medicine too at the time and had to control the amount of protein in my diet so it wasn’t just the Acupuncture alone but it did help me feel better.

I am so petrified of acupuncture, I just hate needles, I honestly do not think I could sit thru it! A lot of people swear by it, I just cannot bring myself to doing it, even with all of my pains (and creaks and squeaks my body has) lol…

Linda, I too am a big believer in Acupuncture – my cousin’s wife told me how it had helped her get off a lot of medicine, so I tried it and it really has helped me with my tummy issues. I couldn’t believe how much it has helped me out. I go back once a year or so for like 5 – 7 treatments and it keeps working for about a year to a year and a half.
Just started the Big Sky Wedding this morning. I’m already hooked. I can’t wait to finish work today so I can get back to it. Love your books!
Take care and God bless!

I’m probably too late to win a book but definitely want to find out about the bracelet. It’s my favorite piece of jewelry, especially silver, and my granddaughter’s name is Brylee! It would be a great keepsake to hand down to her.
