Thursday Catch-up Blog

Well, now, where to start?  I guess the first thing will be the weekly Weight Watchers report.  I was up 4/10ths of a pound.  No panic, though–I did take a look at my portion sizes and make a commitment to be a tad less generous.  :)  The thing is, there are always going to be ups and downs, as on any path, and certainly this doesn’t qualify me for a life in the circus (darn it), but I’ve learned through long experience and more than a few hard knocks that it’s best to deal with a problem when it’s still small.

Sure enough

A big part of today’s blog got sucked into the black hole of cyberspace.

Errrrgh!  This is a brand new computer, so I’m blaming the internet itself.

To recap what I wrote before, my great-nephew, Gibson, is doing well.  I think he’s still in the hospital, but he’s been gaining weight steadily and is breathing on his own.  His parents are devoted, spending lots of time with him.

I finished THE TALIBAN CRICKET CLUB, the novel I mentioned previously.  It was sobering, but very, very good.  I then started THE KABUL BEAUTY SCHOOL, a memoir, and I’m enjoying that, too.
