Above: Mowgli. He’s a year old and a real pistol!
Below: Toulee (pronounced Too-lee), five years old and as sweet a dog as I’ve ever met. They arrived last night, in the care of my good friend Gail Mackie of Spokanimal, and received a rousing welcome from everybody but Wiki and Button, the cats, who are reserving judgment. (But curious, as cats tend to be. :)) Both pups are kennel trained and slept through the night, thereby allowing their new mama to do the same. They’re settling in nicely, and will no doubt win the cats over in short order.

Both dogs are cute, but I think I like Toulee the best. I know you shouldn’t have favorites, but…what can I say? He looks like a powder puff with legs and a face.
Enjoy!

Awwww…….they are adorable. They will soon realize that a better “mama” could not be found, I’m sure! Praying for many many days full of doggie (and kitty too) smiles all around (yes, I’m one of those who prays for/about everything and everyone, after all who but our AWESOME CREATOR could be petitioned for such a treasured request).

Thanks for sharing pictures of your two new residents. They are both adorable. Glad you “rescued” them.

They are so very cute! Now they have a special loving mommy! I lost my PLOTTHOUND in December. I still have an 18 year old Staffordshire. Also have a sweet pitbull i rescued two years ago from abuse. She shows so much graditude! Smiles and loves licking when you do the smallest things for her. I miss my PLOTTHOUND so much. He was 14 and died of stomach cancer. Got sick so fast and then in a few weeks he went to the Rainbow bridge. He was very special. He absolutely thought he was a person. My baby JJ always in my thoughts and now there is a big hole in my heart. I have a chance of getting a miniature dotson. Just not ready mentally and financially. God Bless you and those cute doggies. I love Toulee but can’t find a rescue in my area like him (or her). That’s the kind of pup I want so I just keep waiting and looking! Great looking dogs. They will do well in your household. Thank you for sharing!

So glad you rescued these little ones. May you have many
enjoyable years ahead with them.
The cats will adjust after pretending that the dogs aren’t
really there for awhile or they may surprise you and make
up with them soon.
Wishing you happy days ahead.

Linda,
Your new dogs are precious. I hope they bring you so much joy. Dogs are the best company, I have a bichon that I rescued from California.I had him flown into Chicago, where I live. He is the light of my life. Enjoy your new puppies. I love all your books.

Bring them to my house if your cats are being stuffy. Mater
loves all animals (he rarely kills mice unless they have a heart
attack or he sits on them). Such sweet babies and they have no idea what a good mother they just found!

What adorable valentines Linda. They are both sweet and I’m sure the cats will enjoy their company – eventually!!

Oh they are so cute! My husband and son want a dog but I keep telling them a cat is enough because the cat don’t have to be taken on walks or let outside to go to the bathroom. It stays out about half the time already and he goes to the litter box when he needs to.

The phrase……..”the good Lord willing and the Creek don’t rise” refers to a time in earlier America when the Creek Indians were a threat to settlers, who feared an uprising. Today, many assume it means “I’ll see you if the creek (meaning stream) doesn’t flow over its banks. This is a common misunderstanding of the original meaning.

I am so happy for you that you have new babies to cuddle and share love with. We have a “13” year old rescue dachshund baby. Her name is Molly and she is pure joy to her daddy and me. She goes everywhere with us. We have a stroller for her. I can’t imagine not having her beside me. There is nothing like the love and caring they give us. Congrats.

What better way to celebrate the holiday of love than to add so much love to your home! Toulee reminds me of a furbaby I once loved. Congratulations!!!

I’m so happy to hear of new pups in your life. Hope they bring you as much joy as our little Pookie (Yorkie/poodle cross). We’ve had a tough couple of years dealing with my husband’s lungcancer/cardiac and hip problems as well as helping two of our bewst friends cope with serious cancer. Our little Sparky brings joy to every day and keeps us mobile. Enjoy your new family members
