Winners, weight and the flu bug

The current contest winners are: Connie Ayers and Colleen.  Both winners have received emails from Super Jen; your books are on their way, ladies.  Enjoy!  As always, there is a new contest underway right now; all you need to do to enter is make a comment.  Winners (who are chosen at random) will receive an email from Jen asking for snail mail info–to avoid misunderstandings, please note that if you don’t get an email from Jen, you didn’t win this time around.  Sometimes there are a number of entrants with the same or similar names and confusion ensues.  We don’t want any of you to be disappointed, so please make sure you understand the workings of this particular contest.

Yesterday was Weight Watchers–and I gained five pounds.  Considering that I was away for two weeks, that isn’t so bad, methinks.  So I’m taking this one on the chin like a good cowgirl and forging onward.  :)  I was pretty active the whole time–wouldn’t you know, after wearing my Activelink (a little device that measures activity levels) every day, I somehow managed to lose the thing somewhere between Fort Lauderdale and Spokane?  I have a new one now, all fired up and securely fastened to my person.  :)

Lastly, I’m going to be taking it pretty easy today because I’m feeling flu-ish–probably just travel fatigue, but I don’t want the malady to get worse.

The weather is beautiful here today; sunny and bright, though still bitingly cold.  (I admit it, I was spoiled by the warmth of Florida and the Carribean.)  Bernice and I took a little walk this morning and I nearly froze to death but I did enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, and I’m in gratitude mode for sure.

That’s today’s blog, my friends.  Stay warm, stay well, and be kind.

It’s pouring down rain in S. Carolina. Not a good day to walk. I’m starting back Monday to the gym 5 days a week. Had total hip replacement surgery Jan. 27th. I lost 25 lbs. from that and plan to get my strength back and lose 30 more!! Weight Watchers works!!!

Congrats to the winners. We got up to another ten inches of snow today and another state of emergency. It started out as about 2 and half inches of rain then sleet and then the snow. So sick of winter and I want spring to come. We have spent the afternoon shoveling snow so I think I got my exercise in for the day. Now we are going to have a big bowl of chili that I made this morning.

Linda, I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, and I pray it is just from all the travel. Maybe you should try some B-12 that melts under your tongue. It works.

Congratulations to Connie Ayers and Colleen! Enjoy your win, ladies.

I forgot to tell you that I heard on the news last night that there is snow in 49 out of 50 states at this time, and that included Hawaii. The only state with no snow on the ground was FL.

I wonder if that is a first?

For being on vacation for a couple weeks 5 lbs is not bad at all. I had a Fitbit and when I wore that thing everyday I would check after dinner to see if I got all my steps in and if I didnt I would start walking around house like crazy. Then like you I lost it I think it might of fell off when I was walking my Granddog I was babysitting. That means it’s in my yard somewhere under about three feet of snow. Who knows I may find it this Spring !

The beautiful sun out there is very deceiving. I drove my son to school this morning and was blinded by it’s beauty…. but had to have the heater blasting to feel the warmth the brightness promised. Still, give me the sun over the fog any day! Love living in the beautiful pacific northwest!

It is so nice to hear you speak of Debbie Macomber as I read her books too, and think of you as “real people” just like us. Except, you have a talent for putting words on paper and we love to read them. Thank you for all the wonderful years of reading you have given me and my friends. I live in Victoria B.C. so we share the weather, and it has been a nice spring.

After describing all the food you ate with the Macombers, I think you got off lucky with gaining only 5 lb. Now it’s time to settle back in the groove and take care of yourself. Staying inside is the only way for us in KY with 16+” of snow on the ground. Yeah for warmer temps coming up!

Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Hope that doesn’t stop you from writing! I gobble up your books then save them to re-read. As snowbirds I certainly appreciate your joy of Florida. We plan to stay till all the snow melts back home in Prince Edward Island Canada where they received eight feet in as many days. As full time RVers we have to wait till it melts and the mud dries up so we can park our rig without danger of sinking. :-P

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit with another of my favorite authors, Debbie Macomber. She lives in Vero Beach, Fl where my grandparents used to live and it’s a great coastal town and the Indian River fruit is the best. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
