Winners and More

This week’s winners are: Kay Schock and Tammy Carter.  Both of you will receive a signed copy of my new book, “Once a Rancher”, which will be on sale March 29.  To enter next week’s contest, simply comment.  Winners will be chosen at random and announced this coming Monday, right here the blog.  The prizes are the same.

I spent today working on my Civil War novel, “North of Eden” (the title may change), and I’m feeling very tired and very happy.

I’m listening to an audiobook called, “Ghost Gifts”, by Laura Spinella.  I’m enjoying the story a lot, and I recommend it to anyone who likes ghost stories.  Clever story, well written.

My weekend was quiet, spent mostly with my furry family.  As I’m writing this blog, Button the cat, age 20, is resting his chin on my wrist.  He is so cute and so loving that it’s easy to forgive him for being a little stinky.  :)  (OK, a lot stinky.)  Wiki, the other cat, kept his usual low profile, except when it was time to eat.  The dogs got gloriously dirty, playing in the rain and tromping through the flowerbeds.  Last night, I had to toss both of them into the sink and hose them down, one by one.  They were very indignant, but soon forgave me.  :)

Mom will be moving to the new place soon, and she’s excited.  It will be so nice to have her closer and know she’s getting the care she needs.

That’s today’s news, my friends.  See you tomorrow.

Linda, just in case you don’t go back, again, to see my thanks in the previous Blog, THANK YOU! for your comment of a few minutes ago.

I just finished a book by Gail Gaymer Martin, titled Dreaming of Castles. It was a very good book, from Hilda, of course, about a girl who was over weight and the lessons she learned. These same lessons can pertain to just about any problem we have, including the complaining.

I did learn one really important lesson…You can lose weight, but you can’t lose ugly, so I am trying to change my attitude and not let people’s hurtful words get to me.

Congrats to the winners. I am so glad your mom will soon be close. It is very muddy here also and my cat gets a bath about once a month and he doesn’t like it to much but if he is going to be outside a lot and then come in, he is going to have to take a bath. We have had rain the past couple of days, so I am ready for some sunshine.

Thanks for the recommendation of “Ghost Gifts.” It’s in my audible.com shopping cart and ready to purchase at only $1.99 because I own the kindle version.

Glad your mom is looking forward to her new home. Should be good for you all to know that she is well situated.

As always, looking forward to your new books.

I’m listening to “Shotgun Bride.” I adore Jack Garrett’s narration of your books. I’m thrilled to see the opening trilogy of the McKettrick series come out in audible with Mr. Garrett’s wonderful voice.

today is Monday & we had another small gift of a bit of rain & the rest of day was sunny with a little wind so being a good day. Cats are interesting & always wonder what would happen if they could talk. You can’t get mine near water expect to drink. Hope your Mom does well in her new place. Have you ever read any of Joanne Fluke’s mystery’s with Hannah Swensen as main person & owning a cookie shop? Not your normal mystery but good series. Think you would enjoy them. Looking forward to “Once A Rancher” & again thanks for your great stories. Have a great week. Jo Ann

I am so waiting for Once the Rancher and your civil war book. From your blog you listen to a lot of audio books and it’s good to get referrals. One of my friends is going thru cancer treatments. When I go to visit I like to take her something to cheer her up. From reading your blogs I got the idea of audio books as since her treatments started she doesn’t read anymore. Doesn’t have the concentration. She is enjoying the audio. Thanks for the idea and many sweet blessings with your furry friends.

My male cat broke his foot. He keeps taking the casts off! Even with a sling, he finds a way to get rid of each cast within a week. I explained to him that a cast is better than a stump, but I don’t think he cares.

Blessings to you, your family, and your furry family from me and all of mine.
