#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

This is the day!

I’m off to the airport in a few hours, on my way to Southern California for the CREATE art retreat.  Wendy and Jeremy will be meeting me, and we’re looking forward to a grand time.

Heartfelt thanks for all your comments about yesterday’s blog.  I agree–more flags, and, men, remember to take your hats off when Old Glory is presented.  (Especially at the rodeo.  Cowboys especially take issue with anybody showing disrespect for our flag OR our service people.)  So many good people have died for the rights we might take for granted, if we’re not careful.  Let’s separate politicians (it’s an American tradition to dislike and distrust them) from the PEOPLE who are sent into harm’s way, the men and women of our armed forces.  That’s why there are red stripes on that beloved flag–because soldiers as well as citizens BLED to preserve all it represents.

And here I am, on my soap box again.  :)  Nothing gets me going like my love of my country.

So I’ll be traveling today, and I have every intention of blogging and tweeting, but if you don’t hear from me, it won’t be because I’m not trying.  It will be because of my chronic technical difficulties.  :)

Oh, and I almost forgot.  My new book, BIG SKY COUNTRY, is in stores today!

Not much gets by me.  :)

I downloaded your new book this morning. I’ve been looking forward to new cowboys from you for months. HURRAH…the first one is here and ready for reading when I get my “chores” done–cleaning the kitchen while it’s still cool here. UGH (on cleaning the kitchen stuff.)
