#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

Our winners are….

Linda Park and Rosemary–congratulations, ladies.

A new contest begins on Monday, so be sure to stop by the blog and make a comment.

I’ve spent the whole week rebuilding my strength, and I’m pretty much there, I am ever so glad to say.  Since I’m generally an active person, operating at zero-energy was no fun at all.

This morning, I awoke to find that all of the snow had melted–better yet, I heard birdsong.  Sure enough, when I came downstairs, I spotted a robin in the backyard.  YES!  That got me to thinking about my daffodil and tulip bulbs, down there under the cold, wet dirt, getting ready to spin their God-given magic and amaze us all with radiant colors and that singular luminosity only real flowers have.

What I did today: Mary Ann and I went to Walmart.  Now, I LOVE Walmart–there are so many great things available there–but it usually wears me out, too.  I have to wheel up and down every single aisle, lest I miss something.  :)  This time, my purchases included: two pajama sets (in a smaller size, thank you very much), cat and dog treats in truly ridiculous amounts, bananas and apples, because I go through those like there’s no tomorrow, and a set of glass mixing bowls.  My supply was pretty low, mostly because of attrition–a couple of times, I put Bernice’s water in one (she prefers outside water over inside water), forgot about it, and went out onto the deck the next morning to find the thing frozen solid.  A couple of times, the bottom of the bowl stayed put when I lifted it.  Yeesh.  The Pyrex set is impressive–10 nesting bowls, in every possible size–and I won’t be using them for dog water.  :)

Starting next week, we’ll be giving away the first of four copies of POSITIVITY, a wonderful book I wanted to share with you.  There will be more of my necklaces, too, and, of course, an autographed copy of BIG SKY SECRETS.

My Great Courses math course arrived today.  It will be interesting to see how this turns out.  I’m really enjoying their, THE JOY OF SCIENCE on my iPod, although honesty compells me to admit that I don’t get everything the man says.  :)

One more note: some of you won dolomite/jade necklaces.  I’ve discovered since that the glue I used wasn’t strong enough.  Please re-glue yours, using Super Glue or Loctite’s GO 2 glue, which is excellent.

Have an excellent weekend, my friends.  Be safe, be well, and be kind.

Congratulations to Linda Park and Rosemary!!! Enjoy your prizes, ladies.

Linda, I’m really glad you’re getting your energy back. If you find you get an excess of it, would you send some my way, please???

We were supposed to be having freezing rain today, but had partly sunny weather and around 52 degrees. I was very glad about that.

I pray that all the people who are snowed in, and under, get some relief soon.

Linda, have a good and Godly weekend, and rest up a little.

I am very happy you are feeling better. I must say I agree with you about Walmart. Our store never has things in the same place twice. I think they do this so that I have go up and down every isle. It’s very frustrating!
Why did you choose dolomite/jade for the stones in the necklaces?
I am so happy. Tomorrow we are to be in the high 40’s! It will seem like shorts weather. Hopefully this will melt off some of the snow.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I wish to see a blue bird also that means spring is near. I am looking forward to the green grass and flowers that spring brings. I am always afraid (lol) to walk every aisle in Walmart. I feel as I will pick up things I don’t need. Have a wonderful weekend !!

Congratulations to Linda Park, and Rosemary, i am sure you will enjoy your wins.
Linda i am so glad that you went down a size in your pj that is so thrilling congratulation to you. I don’t know about WalMart i have not been able to go to any store for several years, because of my health. I just got bad news my family doctor told my daughter yesterday that he thought i needed to be in a nursing facility where i would have nursing 24 hours a day. As you probable can guess i have be crying about this off and on the biggest part of the day. So i was glad to hear your great news on going down a size, that is a great accomplishment that is a hard job. Please, please pray for me i am not handling this news very well. Blessings to you all.
    As always your friend,

Norma, I am so sorry to hear this news, and I will be praying for you. My mama was in a nursing home for a few years before she died, and she didn’t HAVE to be, but I couldn’t get her to come home, or come live with me.

I think she liked being around other people and the games they sometimes played. She liked Bingo and the spelling bees they had, and won most of them.

If you would like to contact me directly, my E-mail address is gloriagriff1223@aol.com. In the meantime, I’ll be praying.

Thank you Linda, i could use all the prayers i could get. My daughter is checking the nursing homes and different things. I know that i never want to go back to the Laurels of Blanchester. in Blanchester, Ohio. The first time i went it was pretty nice but this time the people that ran it was something else, they were trying to make me a permanent resident, with out even asking me, they had filled out papers for the Ohio Medicaid and it went through and they were going to take my money with out me knowing that they were doing it. I would of probable stayed there if they had done what they did. Thanks for all the prayers, i really appreciate it. I well let you know. where i am at.My daughter is going to see if i can go into a nursing home for a couple of months and then come home. Blessing to you and thanks. Norma

Happy you are doing better. Happy you finished the book, know how you feel about losing your corrections. Been there and done lost a lot of my work. Not good grammar but its the way I think!
We had a lot of sleet, rain and ice last week. I had gone home for Mardi Gras and was so happy I missed it. Would you believe on Monday night it started raining, the temp fell to below freezing and we got up to ICE everywhere. Mardi Gras Life Festival was canceled the priest couldn’t say Mass down town on the stage. It was still a good trip but I am ready for winter to be over.

I’m glad the snow has melted, ours in Arkansas did the same from last week’s storm. We’re looking at 60’s and 70’s temp wise this week and I’m loving it. I’ve frozen a metal bowl to the ground before when I’ve left it outside, so I know how you feel.

    Have a great day.

Good luck on your math course. Math was never one of my favorite subjects but our grandson Colin loves math. He is in the 8th grade and has been competing in MATHCOUNTS for 2 years now. Colin competed in the Wyoming State MATHCOUNTS competition in Laramie on Saturday. He came in 4th in the individual competition and 2nd in the team competition. Great Job at Laramie, Colin!!!!! Now the great news he is going to the 2014 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS National Championship May 9, 2014 in Orlando Florida! We are all so proud of what he have accomplished this year!!! Good luck at the Finals!
