#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

Monday’s Blog (How’s that for original?)

This week’s winners are: Mary Marcincin and Eugenia Riddick.  Congratulations, ladies.  You will each receive an autographed book by moi.  And a new round is underway: to enter, simply comment and cross your fingers.  :)  Two winners will be chosen at random, notified by Super Jen and announced on this blog next Monday–give or take a day.

On a different note entirely, I was, like sane people everywhere, deeply saddened by the attacks in France this past weekend.  My prayers go out to the innocent victims of this savagry, and to their friends and families as well.  Free people in every part of the world stand with you, the French, in solidarity and the hope of peace.  May God be with you.

I had company over the weekend; nephew Andy Wiley, his wife Angie, and their daughters, Raeanne and Allie Jo, spent the night on Friday, before attending both a basketball game and a roping event–ah, youth.  I was tired just hearing about it!  On Saturday night, my brother-in-law, Jim Lang, and his buddy Gene bunked here, and though their stay was brief, I enjoyed catching up.  Jim’s wife, my sister, Sally, will be visiting next weekend, and I can hardly wait.  I’ll be modeling a couple of her lovely sweaters on the blog sometime this week.

Wiki and Button have basically taken over the place.  I call them my boys and they have me well-trained already.  :)  Thank you, by the way, for all your sweet comments on their photos.

In closing, I would like to end this entry the way the legendary anchorman Dan Rather ended every newscast during troubled times:

COURAGE.

Congrats to Mary and Eugenia!! My heart and prayers go out to France, and especially to the families and friends that was involved in this tragedy. It just breaks my heart to think someone like that has so much hate in their hearts. I do want to see those lovely Sweaters you are talking about.

What a terrible thing for France and it’s residents. The US knows and understands the grief of losing family and friends to such acts of terror. Prays and love to all of those around the world that have to experience such sadness.

    Congratulations to this week’s winners!

I liked the Fred Rogers quote on helping children process the tragedy. His mother told him bad things are going to happen – watch and see the good people pitch in to help. Great advice for grownups struggling to understand too.

I hate what happened in France. It saddens me that others feel that taking the lives of many and hurting family and friends left behind of those victims is the way to be understood and heard. God bless you and your family.

I too am heartbroken about the events in Paris and the families and friends are in my prayers. Nice to see you’re having so much company! This time of year I am thankful for my blessings but on my birthday last week I really missed hearing “Hi Mom. Happy Birthday!” from my oldest son. He always called me on my birthday. More than the physical him, I miss his friendship. His widow and I have become even closer since she is estranged from her family. We still have lots to be thankful for.

My brother in law of 50 years passed away last week. Even though I have 2 brothers he was the one that was the most aggravating little brother. So mischievous! We will all miss him terribly. I HATE cancer! Sorry for venting! It’s been a bad week all the way around! I enjoy your books so much! My escape is in reading. xoxoxo

I felt a thump to my heart of Friday when I heard about the terrorist murders in Paris – it’s surreal to hear about violence like this while we go about our lives thinking about things like Thanksgiving and Christmas – I hope there isn’t backlash against Syrian refugees who are trying to get their families to a safe place.

Congratulations to the ladies who won the books… I was in that same position about 2 weeks ago & remember how excited I was!

As for France & all her citizens, COURAGE is a very apt description to urge on all of them. I can remember when they were fighting for their lives when I was a little girl… of course, they knew their enemy then, this one just hides in the woodwork! My prayers are for all of the people in this world these days…
