I Have a Dream…

I have a dream that someday, everyone will be kind and respectful to everyone else, no matter what color their skin or manner of worship.

I have a dream that not a single child, anywhere on the planet, will go hungry and suffer for a lack of medical treatment.

I have a dream that every animal will be recognized as a precious being, a creation of God, and treated with love and generosity.

I have a dream that every man, woman and child on this Earth will have plenty to eat, plenty to believe in, and plenty to smile about.

I have a dream that the bells of freedom will ring out everywhere, and that the human race will become a friend to this big blue marble that supports us all.

I have a dream that soldiers from every country will be able to lay down their weapons, go home, and live happy, productive lives.

Oh, yes, I have dreams.

And I will hold onto them, and have faith that God will help all of us make them true.

How about you?

Thank you for posting this! I personally never tire of hearing/reading these words and being reminded, especially today, of a dream our country is still striving to achieve. As a black woman (and one of your biggest fans -:) I appreciate your reflection today. :)

Linda, Oh to have a magic wand! I would wave it and make all those dreams come true. It is a dream that so many of us wish for, and try to achieve through our day to day lives by being aware of others thoughts and feelings, and not taking what we have got for granted. Thank-you for making me think and reflect :)

Linda so well put. I think we all have those dreams and wish they would all come true. On this day with the president being sworn in and Martin Luther King Day, I hope those dreams come true.

Yes, Linda, that would be wonderful if it all came true.It should all come true because we should love each other as we love our self. God want us all to be on big happy family and love each other, that is the golden rule. Jesus gave his life for us. God bless you all.

Yes, we all aspire to the hope of those perfect dreams & should continue to strive for them. However, we also know that perfect peace & justice in this world will not be achieved until Jesus returns! Trust Him always!
    Blessings,

That’s the “kicker”, isn’t it? Jesus did not promise peace on earth, but he still wants us to strive for it, until His return when He’ll set up the new heaven and earth. Peace in our HEARTS, that’s what we need to seek! Thanks for the reminder, Sherry!

Yes Linda, your dream will come true through Jehovah’s promise in Isaiah 65 and he restates that promise in Revelation 21:3-5 just to name a few. We pray for his Kingdom to be on earth as it is in heaven in the Lord’s Prayer that Jesus gave us.
So you see, your dream is not far off from God’s promise to mankind and so we should pray every day for this to come to pass as I am sure you do. Love your books Linda and I buy every one.

Someone just asked me if I had just one wish what would it be? My answer was for people to be kind to one another. My dreams are the same as yours. If we believe in God then we are all equal. We need to spread the love around

Linda, your dream is just one of the things I think most of us just keep expecting to happen and it is like you just normally want to give God His 10%…it is just a given that we want that and pray for it. There are some things that are just a given and as normal as breathing to the ones of us who want all the things you mentioned.

After saying that, as I am grateful for all I have, (left), I just want to tell you my dream, to include the ones already mentioned by you and the others, is to be able to live in my old house. Are you getting tired of hearing that? But, my dream has turned into a nightmare.

You know how dreams are, you want them to come true and you want to share them with your family and friends. After loosing my oldest son, I also lost his family, and can no longer share anything with my son, grandchildren and D-I-L. If that wasn’t enough, as I’ve said before, my youngest son is now not able to work, and is loosing his house.

And, to add insult to injury, I’ve had my old house broken into 3 times in last few weeks. I’m not only being robbed of my dream, I’m being robbed of things I worked hard for to use at my old house.

I used to believe if you worked hard, prayed, and dreamed, your dreams would come true. I no longer believe that, and for that reason, although I haven’t lost my faith in God, I have lost my faith in my dreams, and I need all the prayers I can get from you and all the other ladies on your Blog.

Thank you, Linda, for letting me whine on your Blog. I didn’t even offer any cheese and crackers to go with my whine. Sorry!! But, I could use a lot of help with prayers.

Linda, I forgot to tell you, I’m not there when they break in, (although I’d like to be…just once), and it isn’t the shack I live in, but the old house I want to live in.

And, NO, I don’t have an alarm system. If I run wire to anything, they steal that, too. It’s a no-win situation, and will be until I can move there and be on site all the time.

Gloria, i am so sorry for everything that has happen to you. You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of you son and not being able to be in the lives of your grandkid. I know all about that i went through that when my son died. I have not heard from his chrildren and i was not allow to see them when they were younger and now that they are older the same thing. I am sorry for all of your other problems that other people have done to you. Just know that you are in my prayers. God bless you.

Thanks, Norma Stanforth. I’m not kept from seeing my grandchildren, I’m just not in a position to go see them. I don’t have reliable transportation, and can’t afford to rent a vehicle, or buy the gas to go.

And, since my D-I-L remarried, he has a say as to whether she comes here, and the answer must be NO, since she doesn’t.

Thank you for your prayers, also.

    Hi Linda,
I just got a email from you aunt Arlee, she said that she got the painting done of your dad, you and the horse Peanut. She did know that was the horse’s name. I can’t wait to see it.
    God bless you.
