Deep Breath….

OK, so I wrote this very chatty blog entry on New Year’s Day, filling you in on my holidays (quiet and marvelous) and describing my personal N.Y’s Eve ceremony in intricate detail–AND the whole works disappeared into the Black Hole that is cyberspace!

I’m normally a pretty tough ole cowgirl, but let me tell you, that got my goat.  Cursing Bill Gates under my breath, I shut down my computer–swearing to switch from this PC to a Mac, pronto–shut off the lights, closed my office door (so the dog wouldn’t sneak in and pee on the hardwood floor) and walked away, disgusted.

As you can see, I’m back.  :)  If this one gets eaten, well, you might hear me swearing even if you’re on the other side of the planet.  I mean, for heaven’s sake.  How much frustration is enough?

Christmas was quiet, and it was lovely.  At my request, most of my gifts were donations of pet food to various animal shelters, and I got so much satisfaction out of the idea that I’ve made it a permanent policy.  Of course, there are always a few renegades–Sally, who is Thankful Rose on Etsy, as I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, sent me one of her lovely repurposed sweater creations.  I’ll be posting a pic on Facebook as soon as I’ve had my hair trimmed.  :)  (Hey, I never said I wasn’t vain.)  Debbie Macomber sent a beautiful handcarved cross, which she picked up on last summer’s visit to Africa, and there were a few other goodies, too: daughter Wendy gave me the world’s coolest candle, with a beautiful ring hidden away in the wax, and a set of Abraham Lincoln bandaids, now proudly displayed on a bookshelf here in the office.  Since my big dream is to write a Civil War novel, I told her I’d keep the bandaids handy in case of bruising reviews.  :)

Since I don’t trust this computer much farther than I can throw it, this blog will be continued.  :)

May your New Year be filled with wondrous blessings. A computer that doesn’t chew up your correspondence and then spit it out into cyberspace!

Your humorous take on life in general is greatly enjoyed by your fans. Have a splendiforus week!

Happy New Year!! My Christmas ( & New Years) was also quiet. Like it better that way. It’s not about gifts or lots of noise,

Linda I’m so glad your Christmas was a Merry & Happy one. Your New Year is going to be the same.

As for switching to an iMac you will be ever so happy. Our old PC, Bill Gates special, was hacked one too many times for my liking. I Told my darling husband enough was enough. My friend & neighbor had an iMac which was 8 years old with never a problem. We went to an Apple Store & viewed all the various machines. Talked about them on our way home. We went on line, ordered one & have been happy clams. No hacking or other problems since.

Hmm…I’m wondering if you have a virus or bug in your computer or maybe a problem with your internet connection. I lost a post I was working on when our power went out the other day. I didn’t bother trying to recreate it. I just figured it wasn’t meant to be…lol.

I love every word I’ve read so far :-) I understand your frustration with these blasted computers though. I have experienced the same thing on several occasions myself. Makes me frustrated enough to throw the darn thing right out the second story window. I’ll continue reading your next blog.

Civil war band aides? Never heard of such a thing! BTW, have you read Bill O’Reilly’s Killing Lincoln? Very good book as well as being insightful. I learned things I never knew about Lincoln as well as that era in history!

Well it sounds like you had a great Christmas Linda!! I don’t think I have ever seen any Abraham Lincoln bandaids, so that sounds like a pretty good little gift to have around to remind you of that Civil War novel. Hope you have a good year in 2015.

Linda, so sorry you had to deal with the frustration of losing another blog, but it’s a kick reading about it. One of those, “yep, been there, done that”, moment.

As a Seattle native I used to give myself the give of donating to PAWS in Lynnwood every year; now living and loving life just outside of Tucson, I donate time and $$ to the Humane Society of Southen AZ.

Wishing you and your family the best for 2015!

I am so glad you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year! If the candle you received as a gift is a Diamond Candle, it is made right in my home town!!! :) We love them and have never smelled a bad one!! and the rings that myself , my friends and co-workers have gotten are very nice. We think that one of the rings is a real stone( not cosmetic) but the co-worker has not had it appraised. The people that own the company are great and are Christians which makes it even better. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy the many I have.

We also Love your books and are re-reading the Creeds now.
    Many Blessings!

Happy New Year Linda and I hope your computer acts properly for a while. I get very frustrated when they do their own thing too, but when they eat stuff .. well I get quite cranky to say the least. Your Christmas gift idea sounds wonderful!! All the best for 2015 to everyone! :-D

Linda, So the Holidays are over and we have to get back to the regular hum-drum days. I must sympathize with you and your computer. I have an ancient laptop and I swear at it every single day. It’s my brother’s hand-me-down so I guess I shouldn’t complain. I just put it out there for the family that if someone wanted to get a new laptop, I’d be happy to take the old one off their hands. Money is tight with the Holidays and upcoming surgery. I’ve worn out one of my knee replacements. So, I need a “re-tread”. That’s my own term for the replacement of the plastic in the joint. I will look forward to reading about your perils with you PC.

I would love for you to write Civil War novels. Your historical settings are among my favorites – the McKettricks, Yarbros, orphan train, etc. In fact, Caroline and the Raider was one of my last reads.

I’ve missed your blogs, but am glad you had a great vacation for the Christmas/New Year holidays!
