#1 NYT bestselling author Linda Lael Miller

Me and Montana Silversmiths

You know those big, shiny buckles cowboys covet so–the ones the winners receive every December at the National Finals Rodeo–and at many other rodeos as well?  Well, they’re made by my friends at Montana Silversmiths.

Through my friend (and cousin-in-law?), Steve Miller, I’ve got to know the fine folks who make up this company quite well.  I’ve been to the factory over near Billings, Montana, and watched artisans work in the finest silver, turning out not only buckles, but all kinds of beautiful jewelry as well–the kind of jewelry that makes a cowgirl’s heart go pitty-pat!

Now, I suppose this is starting to sound like a commercial, but it really isn’t.

I’ve teamed up with Montana Silversmiths to design and create a piece we call “Casey’s necklace”, because, in “Big Sky Summer”, to be released May 28, Walker Parrish, the hero, gives Casey, the heroine, of course, this very romantic token of his forever-kind-of-love for her.  You can get a good look at this creation at: www.montanasilversmiths.com/two-hats-one-heart.  We’ll be awarding several necklaces on my website and also on Writerspace, so be sure to enter.  The necklace will be available for purchase through Montana Silversmiths, with one hundred percent of my personal proceeds going to fund my Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women.  Not one penny will go into my own pocket, my friends, but always, ALWAYS to a worthy cause, beginning with the scholarships and maybe even beyond that, into causes supporting children and animals.

Montana Silversmiths does a good job of keeping romance alive in the West, with their lovely products and, even more so, their fantastic spirit.   True cowboys and cowgirls, one and all, these folks are the real deal.

I’m so proud to work with them, producing something beautiful and, in however small a way, helping to make this old world just a mite better for passing through.

love the necklace and can’t wait to read Big Sky Summer…I have a friend who won a rodeo buckle way back in the early 70′s and he gave it to me in his will when he died about 15yrs. ago, I keep it a metal box locked for safe keeping in the safe I have for it means alot to me and will give it to my son when I feel he’ll respect..they do beautiful work! Sure hope you have a nice week-and its so wonderful to donate the money towards your scholarship! love to you!

Absolutely lovely necklace, and so very special! I have a Montana Silversmith watch (http://www.montanasilversmiths.com/large-round-face-silver-filigree-heart-with-gold-trim-link-watch.html) that I have worn every day for the last fifteen years or more and still LOVE it!

That necklace is stunning!!!! How many times can we enter? ;) I’ll probably have to save my money and buy one.

Had such a nice chat with Linda this past Saturday! So many questions I wanted to ask her, forgot many of them, and ran out of time for the rest. Regardless, I was so happy to meet her! She truly is the real deal.

There was some beautiful artwork at the show. Hubby and I should have made a weekend of it and spent more time there. :)

    And, Linda, thank you!!!!

Beautiful necklace. I looked at other necklaces on that site which were also tempting and reasonably priced. Thank you for your generosity.

Gorgeous necklace! I want one, too! And I was pleased to see the price; I would have to save up, but I wondered about the “out of stock” comment. Are they waiting until after the release of your book to make it “in stock”? Also, what do we need to do to try to win it? Is there a contest? I must have missed that info. Does anyone know how one enters to win? Thanks, and I hope everyone is having a really blessed day! Cheers! Hilda.

What a wonderful cause! I work at a community college (as a librarian) and I see so many wonderful women–over 25–coming back to school. Some was to “make something of their lives.” Some want to be able to financially support or otherwise contribute to their families…or support themselves, on their own–maybe for the first time. Still others do it to be role models for their children or siblings…to show them how important it is to get an education. No matter what the reason is that these women come to our community college, we’re glad to have them. They bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to every classroom. I’m often in AWE of the overwhelming obstacles some of these women have had to navigate to get here. Every one is a success story to me. Thank you for what you are doing to help make their dreams a reality. :)
