Wonderful weekend! I cooked a pork roast yesterday, and Wendy and Jeremy and Jen all came to have supper with me. Wendy and Jeremy brought 4 pumpkins, one for each of us, and we carved jack-o-lanterns, making a glorious mess and completely confounding Bernice.
Mine is pretty traditional, while the others are more elaborate–see them on Twitter.
Anyway, it was great fun–I hadn’t carved a pumpkin in years.
There’s a special e-book sale going on until October 22–”Willow”, “Banner O’Brien”, “Desire & Destiny”, “Fletcher’s Woman” and “Corbin’s Fancy” are all on sale for $2.99 each.
I’m back to work on the book today, and I’m loving my new schedule. It really felt good to just relax and allow the well to fill up again. I’m more than ready to jump straight back into the story now.
I’ll be planting two amaryllis bulbs later today, the kind that grow indoors. I’ve ordered heirloom tomato seeds for next year–bought a nifty setup for starting seeds, long about February or March. Ordered zinnia seeds, too–this year I started too late, but next spring, I’ll be ready!
Off to Parable now.

When my kids were little we carved pumpkins and roasted the seeds, good eating. Also, in the first grade my daughter won the pumpkin contest, they had to grow a pumpkin from scratch and care for themselves. Her’s won first place weighing in at 16 3/4 pounds. I’ve still got the picture.

Speaking of pumpkins, remember when Mom dressed as a pumpkin? She was my room mother and, I think, Dad had to haul her to my school in the back of the pickup…

It has been years since I carved a pumpkin. It sounds like you had a great weekend. I am going to check out those books.

Hi Linda! I’m a great fan of your books – it is so easy to lose yourself in “cowboy country”. I have learned the hard way not to pick your books up early in the day, if I do that I somehow manage to forget about housework. I have just finished the two “Big Sky” books and just loved them. Are there more to come?

What is your new schedule that you mentioned? Glad it’s working for you. Always fun to make Jack-O-Lanterns! When my son was a kid Halloween was his favorite holiday; from the scary outfits, carving a mean looking pumpkin, to fetching all that yummy candy
Blessings,

I was just introduced to your books this past winter. Let’s just say that I have pretty much read all of them including The Parable series, and anxiously waiting for the new one to come out! Your stories are so good that while reading them I feel as though I am right in the middle watching everything take place!
