Better late than later still….

The reunion was a great success–we gathered at the Holiday Inn Express/Raptor Reef in Hayden, Idaho, and although I avoided the waterslides and bumper cars, it was wonderful to see the kids and braver members of the clan having so much fun.  It’s safe to say that a good time was had by all.  We spent several happy hours perusing a box of old pictures my brother brought, laughing and remembering.

On the way home, I stopped off at a Target in Coeur d’Alene–Target is one of my favorite places to shop–and left with fancy little casserole dishes (ramkins, I think they’re called in the chic-chic circles), along with other probably unnecessary items.  These are for my Martha Stewart Mac and Cheese–Martha makes individual servings and if it’s good enough for Martha, it’s good enough for me.  This time, I’m not sticking so close to the recipe, because I’ve got the concept: lots of different cheeses, that’s the ticket.  I’ve got this!

Sister Sally, her husband Jim and their grandson spent the night here, and the funny thing is, I didn’t know they were here until Jim walked into the kitchen looking for coffee!  I’d left a door open for them and would have sworn they never arrived, since I didn’t hear them come in.  :)  My 13  year old Yorkie and I hear about equally well, it would seem. :)

I’m tuckered out today, but I’ll be back in my office tomorrow, delving into the new book.  Have I mentioned that I LOVE this book?  :)

I think it’s time for a nap.

Until tomorrow.  The blog, not the nap.

My brother & I drove through Coeur d’Alene when I helped him move from Albany, NY, to Richland, WA, a few years ago. Loved that little town & surrounding scenery!! How often do y’all have reunions? We are spread out down here, so only all get together about every 4-5 years. Glad you enjoyed your family & happy to have you back! What is the name of the new book you are writing? How many in this series?
    Blessings

hey, glad you enjoy Target, that’s where I work here in my home town in Nebraska. They are a great bunch to work with. I lost my husband suddenly and right in front of me on July 11th and the crew I work with helped me in some many ways. As a matter of fact, they still are. Looking forward to your new series and of course Brylee. Got all the others.

It sounds like your reunion was a lot of fun. I miss having them. Maybe our family will be able to get everyone together soon.
Are you thinking of writing anymore McKettrick or Creed stories? I love all of your books!.

    Happy Tuesday!

Glad to hear your reunion was wonderful. As for your mac and cheese…you are right, the more cheeses the better! My secret weapon is Asiago, just adds the perfect taste too it. Enjoy!

Linda, Target is where I buy all of my books. They discount them 25%. That helps me since I buy 2 or 3 every week.

    Linda,
I love Target too. Did you check out the casino in Coeur d’ Alene?
It’s a great place and lots of fun. We were there 2 years ago.
